Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja) novel Chapter 2083

But Stella couldn't get a response from him anymore.

She drifted back into a fitful sleep, tears slowly trailing down her cheeks.

Yet in her dreams, she asked him over and over, "Do you regret it?"

Do you regret saving such a scoundrel, sacrificing your bright future, your very life, to save someone like Morgan? Are you content with your choice?

Stella felt unbearably hot, flashes of mute's handwriting and memories of their sign language conversations flickering through her mind.

How time flies. When she was still struggling for survival in her personal hell, the mute would probably be around two years old by now.

Beck parked the car and was immediately met with the sound of sobbing.

Turning his head, he saw Stella quietly crying, biting her lip so fiercely it seemed she might draw blood.

He reached out, unhesitatingly gripping her chin.

"Open up."

Stella barely reacted, her lips already starting to bleed.

Beck suddenly increased his grip and slid a finger inside to prevent her teeth from clenching further.

"Stella, wake up."

Tears were still in the corners of her eyes as she drowsily opened them, only to feel something against her tongue.

Instinctively, she flicked it with her tongue.

Beck stiffened all over and pushed her away abruptly.

"Awake now?"

Stella's back hit the seat, causing a bit of pain, but it indeed snapped her back to reality.

"Beck."

She leaned weakly to one side, attempting to unbuckle her seatbelt.

Beck, looking at the moisture on his fingertip, wiped it off with a tissue from the side.

After getting out of the car, he walked ahead, only to realize Stella hadn't followed.

Looking back, he saw her still in the car, forehead sweaty, having tried and nearly failed to get out several times.
