Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja) novel Chapter 2115

Beck felt a rush of emotion. It was as if Stella was willing to confine herself to a small world just for him. But as he pondered it, he realized Stella had already been living that way. Maybe she had been ready for this all along, while he had been the one hesitating.

Over dinner, Beck mentioned his plans to return to North America and asked Dave what he intended to do. Dave sighed, knowing Stella was resolute in her decision.

Stella, sensing Dave's worries, offered a suggestion. "Why don't you come to North America with us? You can still take on work there and keep earning," she said.

Dave sipped his coffee thoughtfully. "You've given me all your money, Stella. I could retire if I wanted to. But money or not, you're still my best friend," he replied, emphasizing his loyalty. He wouldn't have come back to this place otherwise, Stella understood.

Beck noticed the silent exchange between them, feeling a pang in his chest. He pulled Stella into his arms. "Don't worry about Dave. With his hacking skills, he'll never be out of work. I'll make sure he's taken care of," Beck reassured her.

Dave rolled his eyes but decided not to provoke any further. He put down his plate and headed out.

After Beck and Stella finished washing dishes, they lay together by the window, watching the stars twinkle in the clear, unspoiled sky. Stella nestled against Beck, soothed by the steady rhythm of his heartbeat.

Beck gently stroked her hair, and after a long silence, he made a promise. "Stella, I promise to take care of you from now on."

Stella didn't respond with words. She was grateful for the name that had led her to Beck. It didn't matter what she was called.

The next morning, they packed up to return to North America. The first thing Stella did back on North American soil was to visit the grave of the mute girl who, it turned out, was Beck's sister.

Though they weren't close, she was part of the Sanders family. It was then Beck discovered the real Stella had passed away. A crease formed on his brow as he sighed, but he doubted Boris Sanders would care.
