She looked up at lan, her cheeks flushed from the kiss, but her eyes remained calm 

“Mr. Raymond, if you’re planning to dig into this, shouldn’t you start with their relationship? Or are you holding back because Ms. Shepard is carrying your child?” 

Just a while ago in the car, he said he wouldn’t cover for Carlene, but he didn’t mention a word about Carlene in front of Lingery. 

Maja wasn’t a fool, she appreciated that he caught the culprit who hurt her, but his deliberate overlooking of Carlene was a fact hard to ignore.

“If Mr. Raymond doesn’t plan to pursue Ms. Shepard’s responsibility, then let’s just drop it. After all, I can’t really confront her either.”
