lan was up on his feet, ready to hit the road. 

But his sight was blurry, his eyes heavily fixated on the dishes on the table. 

These were birthday meals prepared by his Mom, Selena, and his Granny, Edith, who sneakily drugged him. 

A sharp pain hit lan’s heart, and he rubbed his forehead. 

“I don’t love Carlene; I don’t want to marry her. Eric may still be alive, so,” 

His words were cut off by Edith. 

“Don’t lie to me anymore, Holden Raymond has already told me that Eric can’t possibly be alive, even though I wish he were. lan, if you’re feeling bad, let Carlene help you.” 

Feeling dizzy, lan saw Carlene approaching him through his blurred vision. 

“Back off!” 

He grabbed her wrist and pushed her away forcefully. 

Carlene fell onto the floor, almost bursting into tears..

Selena had lan sent to the hospital immediately. 

And word of what Edith did reached Holden’s ears. 

Furious, Holden had Edith tied up and forcefully sent out of Greenfield. 

“I don’t ever want to see her again!” 

Edith caused a ruckus wanting to see Holden, but he refused even at the risk of his own life, even warning Selena. 

“If anything happens to lan, you’re leaving with Edith!” 

Selena was left speechless. 

This time, when Steve Raymond came back, the first thing he did at the hospital was slap Selena. 

“Wicked woman!” 

Selena saw stars as her cheek swelled up. 

But she didn’t dare to utter a word in front of Steye as she was terrified.
