“Shut up!” 

Steve exuded an aura of authority. 

Selena hunched her shoulders in fear, tears streaming down her face. 

The hallway became heavy with tension. Steve’s disgust for Selena had reached a new level, even her tears seemed fake to him. His hand was shaking with anger. “I didn’t mean to.” 

Selena was still apologizing. She knew she had messed up, but she loved Steve, and she didn’t want to divorce him. He was the man she loved the most. 

Steve just closed his eyes in disgust, “Go cry somewhere else. Don’t make a scene here!” 

Selena shut her mouth, her face pale. 

The lights in the ER were still on, the heavy footsteps of the passing nurses made everything seem so heavy. 

Holden couldn’t help but slam his cane in frustration, 

“Absurd! This is absolutely absurd!” 

The fact that such a thing could happen to the Raymond family was utterly ironic and absurd!

“Jeff, are you sure?” 

Jeff’s eyes were red as he wiped the corner of his eyes. 

“Mr. Raymond probably never thought that he would face such a situation when he came home. The doctor also said that he was drugged.” 

Maja’s heart clenched, and she immediately turned around. 

“Which hospital has he been admitted to?” 

Jeff sent her the address of the hospital. 

When Maja got in the car, she instructed her subordinates to investigate the leverage that Laura’s parents held over Harden, and to uncover the truth behind Harden and Meetman’s divorce.. 

Maja drove to the hospital at breakneck speed. 

The hallway was nearly empty. The other members of the Raymond family were all eyeing the position of CEO of the Raymond Corporation. Holden couldn’t stand their pretense, so he had them all leave. Now only Holden, Steve, and a terrified Connie Raymond were left.
