"Well." He looks around, suddenly fascinated with something he's probably too used to. "Probably because it's clean now."
I nod again. "That's a definite possibility."
He looks at me and he can't keep a straight face.
I glare at him. "If you've got a better conversation starter, I'm all ears."
He puts his hands up in defeat. "You've got me."
"Good." I take another sip. "So..." I look up at him again, straight into his eyes. It reminds me of something I wanted to ask a while ago. "Aiden and Carson," I start.
His entire expression changes. "They won't be here for a while. Sorry," he says it so bluntly I'm taken aback.
"Okay," I say, staring at him. "That's not what I was asking."
"Oh." He drinks some water, but I think he does it to cover up the fact that he still looks very upset. It's not rageful, just frustrated.
I take a step closer. "I was gonna say, Aiden's eyes turn silver."
"I know," he mutters.
"Listen to me," I say.
He shuts up after that.
Geez. I rub my forehead. "Aiden's eyes turn silver. Carson's turn gold. I know that, because I've seen both of their wolf forms, but I haven't seen yours." I look up at him, and now he looks a little less upset. "And I've never seen your eyes change color, so I was wondering."
"You really haven't?" he asks.
I shake my head. "Well, sometimes I think I do, but then I think I'm wrong."
He blinks and I see the change instantaneously. One eye is green. The other is blue. My eyes dart between them with pure fascination. "Heterochromia?" I ask.
He nods, and just like that it's gone.
I raise an eyebrow. "Why'd you make it go away?"
"It's hard to maintain without shifting," he says.
"Oh. Sorry."
He shakes his head. "It's fine. I'll show you my wolf form one of these days, if you want. It just looks like a black version of Aiden and Carson though."
