Ditched Cheating Alpha, I Led My Daughter to Life's Peak novel Chapter 164

As the words sink in, Carson turns to leave the kitchen abruptly. "The gym sounds great, Bri. Let's go."

"Carson-" she starts.

He's already gone. She follows him quickly, but then pauses. "Don't worry," she says to me with a tight smile. "I'll get him to come talk to you soon. Maybe just... give him some space? For now? He's kind of-"

"I'm not angry," he screams from somewhere in the hallway, in a seemingly 'calm' tone. "I don't need space. I'm okay with this," he growls.

My eyes widen. She gives me a wary look. "Just..." She can't even finish the sentence. She just leaves. Onai and Ethel trail behind her-far behind her.

In the end it's just me and Axel again, the way it started. With the addition of Krys just staring between the two of us. "Alright, I've just gotta say it." She frowns. "I hope you didn't do your business in my room."

"What?" Axel asks.

She glares at him. "You guys were both talking about how you saw my room and how pink it was. Tell me you turned Mr. Huggles away." She holds her heart.

I smack my forehead. "We didn't do anything in your room, Krys. I don't know why you'd think that in the first place."

"Well sorry." She puts her hands up in defense. "I just had to make sure, because I knew you'd have to do it in someone else's room. I was just hoping it wasn't mine."

I raise an eyebrow.

She looks at me funny. "Because you guys wouldn't be stupid enough to do it in the same room Carson sleeps?"

I cringe. Each words seems to put Axel more on edge.

When she sees our faces, she falls silent. She nods, saying, "Alright. I'll shut up now."

I glare at her.
