"Would you like me to go get him, Luna?" Ethel's mom asks.

The luna shakes her head, going back to her cooking.

"Would you like me to take over that?" Ethel's mom stares warrily at the meal being prepared.

"I'm fine, Regina. Really." The luna smiles before turning to Aiden. "I just need this one to be nicer to his brother." She glares.

Aiden gives her a grumpy look. Now he's the one holding onto her.

The big baby, I think, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't jealous. I look over at Ethel and he has a similar expression on his face. I know that if he tried to hold onto his mother, she'd probably take him to the doctor.

"Figure out what's wrong with this boy," she'd say to the doctor. "He's acting needy. I don't know what's going on."

That literally happened before. I felt so bad for him, but still. Even a mother like that seems preferable to having no mother at all. Not one that wants you at least.

The luna continues to lecture Aiden. "I've told you not to call him names a hundred times. You know he's sensitive."

"Yeah, yeah," Aiden says quietly, watching her put the finishing touches on the meal. "He always laughs at me, though. And Dad does it too. You don't tell them to stop."

"They just want to impress you," she says. "They think they have to prove something to you, because you're always so hard on them."

Suddenly the door flies open.

"That's a lie," Asher yells. "I hate you, Aiden. And I'm not your brother anymore."

Ethel gives me a look. I shrug. So Asher's petty, when did that become a crime?

Asher keeps ranting. "And I'm not gonna eat your nasty, salty chicken, Mommy." He slams the door again. Then he opens it back up. "And I'm not Asher anymore. I'm Carson because I hate everyone whose name starts with A... Or ends with it! Or has an A in it!" He slams the door again.

The luna gives the door a flat look before her brows furrow in confusion. "Does he realize there's an a in Carson?"

"I've been trying to tell you," Aiden says. "His head's too big for his body. That's the problem."

"Aiden," she gasps for real this time. "You have the same head."
