"What?" he asks. "Tell me. Maybe I know him."
I don't say anything.
"Mia?" He looks into my eyes. "Tell me you know his name."
"I'm getting to it!"
"This plan is a disaster," he screams.
"No," I cry out. "Trust me!"
"I can't." He waves his arms, ending the discussion. "What if this blows up in your face and we're caught? Once the brothers suspect you, there's no turning back. Ever."
"Exactly," I say. "But Aiden's already doubting me, so that's why I want to try this plan before I conspire with Suzie." I look into his eyes.. "Don't you think making plans with potentially traitorous Suzie is a little more sketchy than questioning one loyal guard?"
"Hm." He rubs his chin dramatically. "I do like the idea of questioning a loyal guard..."
I nod vehemently.
He sighs. "Fine. One guard. What's the worst that could happen?"
I cheer. "Yes. I knew you'd see it my way."
"Yeah, yeah. I just hope you know what you're doing," he says.
"I do," I say.
"For example." He keeps talking. "How do you plan on getting away from your boyfriend while you're supposed to be on a date with him?" he asks.
My face falls. "Uh... Er..."
Michael gives me a flat look. "Exactly."
I glare at him. "Some things just have to be decided in the heat of the moment, okay?" I nod to myself. "I can't plan everything up to the red lights, Michael."
"Actually..." He pulls his phone out.
I smack my forehead. "Nevermind. All I'm saying is, some stuff just has to be left up to fate."
He scoffs. "In case fate doesn't work out, just use the excuse that you need to get something from your locker Works every time.." He puts his phone away. "I'm just really curious to see how you pull off the kidnapping, though."
"Kidnapping?" I furrow my brow.
He looks at me, nonchalantly. "Yeah, kidnapping the guard, Mia. Keep up."
"I'm not kidnapping anyone," I say.
"Oh come on." He throws his hands out. "That's the best part of the plan."
