"I was the guy who was like, 'This line is too damn long for some tater tots,' and your brother was like, 'Ha! Who you telling.'"
He looks familiar, but I can't pinpoint exactly where he's from. I shake my head. "I don't know a Bob."
"Damn." He holds his heart. "Apparently I'm irrelevant guys." He looks back at his friends laughing their butts off at him. He laughs too, just as vigorously.
I kind of feel bad. I look into his hazel eyes. "I didn't say you were irrelevant."
"You didn't have to," the blue-haired guy says. Dante gives him a high-five.
Bob flips them both off. "Anyway." He looks at me. "Here's my question, Luna."
I brace myself.
"As a human who didn't always know werewolves existed," he starts. "Which was more believable to you. Werewolves..." He holds his hand out, weighing my option. "Or aliens?" He's got a crazy look in his eyes.
Aliens or... Wtf? I take a step back. "That's what you wanted to ask me?"
"Wouldn't you if you were a werewolf?" He looks towards the sky, longingly. "Wouldn't these questions keep you up at night?"
I think about that for a second. Hm, if I was a werewolf would I... Wait! That's not what I came here for. I wave him off, giving my honest answer so he can leave me alone. "Aliens," I say.
"What?" His friends gawk.
"Aliens?" he asks, grin getting wider and wider.
I nod. It's the honest truth. "Aliens without a doubt."
Bob throws his hands in the air, sticking his chin up. "What did I say Evan?" He stalks towards the blue-haired guy. "Dante? Courtney? Nothing to say now?"
"Get out of here." They wave him off.
He brushes his shoulders dramatically, striding around. "As always, I rest my case. A thousand to zero fuckers. Catch up."
"Yeah, yeah." The girl with curly auburn hair shoves him out of the way. "Now it's my turn." She looks at me smiling. "If you could have one more mate, who would it be, Luna? Onai or Ethel?"
Hell no. I plead the fifth, but she doesn't even seem to notice. She swoons, holding her heart. "Ethel lovers get out. Onai's everything."
"You mean Ethel's everything," Frohawk says. "He was the first beta."
"First is a prototype," Blue mutters.
Frohawk glares at him. "Whose side are you on?"
"Bri's of course," Blue says. "Our division's beta if anyone would like to remember that."
As they argue over who would be the better mate, Bob rubs his chin thoughtfully repeating, "Aliens. Interesting."
Dante stares blankly into the open air. "Maybe," he cuts in.
