Alright there buddy. I take a step back. "I mean no, there's not someone else. I just, I don't feel comfortable. I'm just not..."
He raises an eyebrow. "Straight?"
"What? No, that's not... I am straight, I just..."
He raises an eyebrow, looking hella confused. What a man. Of course if I'm not gay or in a relationship, my 'no' suddenly doesn't make sense. Of course he wouldn't even consider a possible fault in himself.
But dammit all to hell if he doesn't look adorable, doing math equations to understand me.
I sigh. "Your brothers are literally right there, and Axel and... it's just a lot going on and I don't want to get in the way of brothers."
I make eye contact with Axel. He raises an eyebrow, a little too quickly. I blush. I wave my hands violently in front of myself. "No, that's not what I meant. I'm not assuming anything, or that you're interested in me or anything, or implying that I'm interested in you or your brother or..." I rub my forehead. "I just feel like something's going on, and I don't want to get in the way by saying yes to one and no to the other." I look between Carson and Axel.
Carson looks shocked, but not in a good way. It's a 'damn you said the wrong thing' look. He looks away, pulling the side of his lip back like 'yikes.'
"What?" I ask.
"Others." He corrects under his breath, holding back a chuckle.
No to the... others? I look at Axel and he gives me the same look from Home Ec. Sympathetic but almost disappointed. He looks at Aiden, hesitant to speak. I follow his gaze and before I can even look at Aiden, he turns around and leaves. Abruptly.
You've gotta be kidding me. I know for a fact that the ice man doesn't like me. In fact, he hates me. Doesn't he?
I look between Carson and Axel. I look away. "This is what I was talking about." I try to walk past them, but Axel gets in my way.
"What Carson meant to say, was that when he offered, he meant that all of us could hang out together."
