Ditched Cheating Alpha, I Led My Daughter to Life's Peak novel Chapter 314

He doesn't answer me, but his grip on my hand tightens.

When we walk into the brothers' room, we catch Carson pointing his toothbrush accusingly at Aiden. "She only kissed you cause you tasted like me. Stop using my Colgate-" He blinks at me.

I blink at him.

He looks down at the only thing covering his body-a towel around his waist.

I stare at his bare chest. Is it even physically possible to have abs that look that good?

"Mia," he gasps, covering his pecs. "Avert your eyes. I'm not decent."

"Sorry!"

"Wait..." I can only hear his voice now, but he trails off like he's turning back to me. "Did you not want me to be decent, or-?"

"Put some clothes on," Aiden yells.

"Joking, joking." Carson goes back into the bathroom, but he still asks over the sound of the faucet, "What are you doing here, though?"

"I'm staying the night," I say.

Something hits the floor.

Aiden looks up from the book he's reading. He's in bed, lounging with How to Rule an Empire in hand. He doesn't look amused at all. "What?"

"I'm staying here." I walk towards the bed I know to be Axel's. I look back at him, still standing in the doorway. "You coming?"

He dodges Carson and Aiden's accusing glances. "I..." He clears his throat. "...need to take a shower."

"Okay." I crawl under his black covers.

He shuffles into the bathroom, avoiding Carson's wide eyes. The door closes, slowly. Much too slowly.

Aiden's still staring at me, eyes narrowed as I get comfortable in his brother's bed. Awkward. "What are you plotting now?"

"Nothing," I say. "I was invited."

He scoffs, looking down at his book.
