Ditched Cheating Alpha, I Led My Daughter to Life's Peak novel Chapter 70

Confusing me? He's barely said anything.

Carson moves his chair right beside me. Right beside me and leans closer. "Alright, listen, Mia." He takes my hand.

I give him a warning look that he ignores. "There are three main divisions, kind of like the branches of government."

I deadpan.

"That's what I just said," Axel mutters.

"Alright, alright, I'm getting there. Don't rush me," Carson looks back at me.

"And do you need to hold her hand right now?" Axel asks.

Carson growls, lowly, "I can hold her hand whenever I want."

I lift my finger. "Umm... Actually--"

Axel cuts me off. "You're just distracting her. She doesn't want you touching her to begin with."

Carson narrows his eyes. "My mate loves when I hold her hand. Don't you, Mia?"

"Our mate," Axel corrects.

"It's my mate when I'm talking about her relationship with me."

What relationship?

Axel nods with a tight smile. "Alright then. My mate doesn't want you touching her."

Carson gasps. "How dare you say my. It's our mate."

Omg. I just look at the wall away from everyone. They remind me of Megan and Charlie when they're fighting. Best to just ignore them.

To be honest, I don't mind Carson holding my hand. As odd as it sounds, it's not like I'm doing anything with it at the moment. If Axel's so irritated by it... I have another hand, or he could've just held my hand first. But I won't be the one to point that out.

I'm still trying to figure out if us all dating is okay in the werewolf world. I can't keep up with them. I just want the bickering to stop. My eyes connect with Aiden. Then I look away.

He glances at his brothers. "So these divisions," he says.

Carson and Axel stop mid sentence. They both look at each other than away.

Aiden continues. "There's domestic affairs, executive and international affairs, and then--"

Carson butts in, "Now this one's the most important," he smirks. "Labor and defense."

Aiden gives him the driest, deadest look ever in history. "None of the divisions are more important than the others."

"I don't think important is the word I'm trying to use." Carson rubs his chin with his free hand that isn't currently holding mine hostage And starting wars. "I think the word is relevant."

Axel scoffs. "What could be more relevant than the division in charge of the building were in right now?"
