I almost feel for her. Almost. The war's divided a lot of families, especially when it comes to the Dawn and Dusk Packs. But that doesn't mean I can just let potential assassins go about their business willy nilly. It's not our fault that our territory is in the middle of all of these warring nations, and it's not our fault that we have control of the major highways (oh wait, it is because we're awesome and we actually think these kinds of things through).
If it was up to me, I'd be all for getting involved in the war. It's been going on for too long in my opinion, and what kind of message are we sending to our allies by leaving them defenseless in their time of need? But I got outvoted so unfortunately, we're gonna have to keep playing Switzerland. We block everyone the same. We don't give anyone an advantage.
I shake my head at the two of them, and the girl's sad look turns real sour real quick.
"Your entire pack is full of hypocrites," she growls at me. "Have you forgotten what nation it was that helped you in your time of need?"
I cock my head back. It sure as hell wasn't hers. What the hell is she talking about? I've had it about up to here with these people. Hike the mountain bitch if you wanna see your mom so bad. "You know the rules," I say. "You can use the highways to travel from one part of your territory to the next. That's it."
It's at that moment that Axel mindlinks me.
"Hey, did you let Dawn werewolves in?"
I narrow my eyes at the people in front of me. "No, but I'm dealing with some right now. Why?"
"I smell them everywhere. I'm in the South, but I think they're moving towards central."
"In the South?" I ask him again for clarification. "Not the Southwest?"
"I'm sure it's just the South. Closer to the East actually along the border of Bloodmoon territory."
Then Aiden butts in. "I'm dealing with Dawn werewolves to the east, and I'm smelling Bloodmoon to the south. What's going on?"
If Aiden is in the North like he should be, south to him would be central... South to him would be Mia. The Bloodmoon Pack shouldn't even be near our borders let alone in them.
The guy with golden locks and the girl with golden eyes watch me in a way I can't describe. I have to decide right then and there whether I'm going to kill them or not. Something's not right.
