Dumping Him for His Uncle (Natasha and Zachary) novel Chapter 46

Xavier's smug expression caused Natasha's fists to itch a little.

She replied, "So you're calling yourself amazing, huh? I've never seen anyone go after you throughout our four years in school, though? It's been three years since you graduated, and you still haven't gotten yourself a girlfriend. Could it be that your 'little friend' isn't working as intended?"

She took a sip of beer and continued, "You don't have to feel insecure about that kind of thing, you know? With current advancements in medical technology, they can fix you up for sure!"

She could not help but laugh when she saw Xavier's deflated expression.

"I'm just kidding. But if you're taking it seriously, then I will too!"

That was how the two of them interacted with one another. They would joke around with each other for a bit and completely forget about what they had said in no time.

Xavier replied, "I agreed to join this project because of you, alright."

Natasha already expected him to say yes as they had always worked well together as a team when it came to research.

She held up her beer and grinned. "Great. Here's to us finishing the job successfully."

She may not be the person in charge of the project, but it felt nice to return to something she was used to doing.

What Natasha did not expect was to be targeted on her very first day at work by Nicole, who seemed like a rabid dog that would not let go.

Nicole did not hesitate to voice her disagreement. "I didn't think that you'd return to the field of medicine. You've been away for three years. Do you even realize just how much technology has advanced during that time? I don't think you're qualified to be a part of this."

But of course, Natasha's skills were not questioned before Nancy put her on the team.

Nancy replied, "Sorry, but I'm the project manager. I have the right to choose who gets on the team."

As for Nicole, who had appeared out of nowhere that morning, Vincent had to deal with her as if he were handling a child.

Nicole circled Nancy once and sneered. "If you don't do as I say, you won't be holding to the title of project manager for long."

Nicole's tone made Nancy a little uneasy. Nancy did not really know who Nicole was, after all.

Molly was a much older person, and her makeup was rather heavy. It was not exactly over the top, but it was enough to mask her original features.

Natasha turned to Xavier and whispered, "Do you know who Ms. Spencer is? And what does she do?"

Xavier chuckled and replied, "She's a self-made entrepreneur. You'll definitely recognize her if you worked in the jewelry business."

It was no wonder that Hayden seemed to be good friends with Molly, given that they both had a passion for jewelry.

But it was certainly puzzling that someone like Nicole would be close to Molly.

Natasha could tell that Molly was not an unreasonable person from their last encounter. She saw that Molly cared about the distinction between right and wrong.

Molly spoke up. "Right, I heard something about you being kicked out of the project. Was someone bullying you?"

Nicole's smile froze for a second before she shook her head with a smile.
