BOOK7 Chapter5
I struggled to get up, but Lucas took a sharp turn, throwing me back down.
He arrived at his destination in under ten minutes.
He was in such a hurry to get out of the car, and when I tried to get out too, he
kicked
me back inside.
He silently locked the car door and coldly spat out, “Why are you crying? Do you
even know how pitiful and helpless Ava is?”
“Stay here and wait. I still have to take Ava to the hospital for a full check–up!”
Desperate, I frantically tried to unlock the door, but he had already disappeared.
When he left, he didn’t give me a chance to take my phone with me.
Now, I had to save myself.
As I tried to figure out my next move, I noticed something wedged in the gap of
the
back seat–a piece of intimate clothing, the source of that strange smell.
Another wave of pain shot through my lower abdomen, but I forced myself to
endure
it, thinking about the child I had struggled so hard to conceive.
Book? Chapter 5
I found a briefcase on the side, grabbed a laptop, and began smashing it against
the
car window in desperation.
After managing to break the window and dragging my blood–soaked legs out of
the
car, I found someone to help me call an ambulance.
Just then, Lucas emerged, carrying a sobbing Ava in his arms.
When he saw the shattered window and heard the car alarm blaring, he roared
like
an enraged beast.
“Damn it! You witch! All you had to do was wait for two minutes, but you just had
to
pick a fight with me!”
“Disgusting! You got period blood all over my car. I’m throwing it out tomorrow!”
I almost laughed. How could he think that was period blood?
