However, before Isolde completely called Joycelyn out, Ellison’s stern voice interrupted. 

“Grandma, we’re in public. She’s a bit shy.” Ellison bent down and reminded her. 

Isolde pressed her lips together, stopping herself from saying the last word. Her smile towards Joycelyn became even kinder. 

“What did she call you?” Lucy asked Joycelyn in a low voice. 

“It’s so noisy here. I didn’t hear it clearly,” Joycelyn replied softly. 

Her heart couldn’t help but skip a beat. Luckily, there was some distance between them, and the noisy airport announcements about boarding made it hard for anyone to hear clearly. 

Joycelyn suddenly felt like she was walking on thin ice, finding her current life more challenging than she had imagined. 

She adjusted her mask and smoothed her hair, trying to look more natural. 

As she approached, she politely called out to Isolde, “Mrs. Grant.” 

Lucy also politely greeted her.

“Hey, you guys go together and have fun. I asked Luna to prepare some breakfast for you to enjoy on the plane,” Isolde said with a cheerful smile, not elaborating further. 

Joycelyn noticed the logo on the meal box. It was from the local restaurant she had mentioned was quite good during a meal with Isolde. 

“Take it,” Ellison said and let Joycelyn take it. 

“Thank you, Mrs. Grant,” Joycelyn said as she let go of Lucy’s hand, responding very politely. 

“Grandma said you like this, so she had Luna prepare it early this morning,” Ellison explained. 

“You all go ahead. I will head back soon.” Isolde had come all the way just to see them off personally. 

Joycelyn took the meal box and hugged Isolde. 

Although she wanted to avoid drawing attention, Joycelyn couldn’t ignore Isolde’s kind attention just because she was worried about her identity being exposed. 

“I’ll leave Ellison to you,” Isolde whispered in Joycelyn’s ear. 

“Yes, I will,” Joycelyn replied softly. 

After parting from Isolde, Joycelyn held Lucy’s hand and boarded the plane. 

“Grandma, we’re leaving.” Ellison’s clear voice rang out as he bid farewell to Isolde. 

“Mr. Grant, have a safe trip. I’ll take good care of Mrs. Grant, so you don’t need to worry,” Leah, who had been quietly supporting Isolde, said.

“I heard that most men can’t distinguish between subtle intentions, but Mr. Grant isn’t just any man. He should be able to see through it, especially since he didn’t even glance her way,” Lucy replied. 

“You think so highly of him?” Joycelyn widened her eyes, very curious about Lucy’s perspective. 

“Although he was wearing sunglasses, I could feel that his gaze was cold the whole time,” Lucy recalled Ellison’s demeanor confidently. 

She leaned in closer to Joycelyn, speaking in a low voice that only the two of them could hear, “Men with high status and a lot of money either have seen too much or aren’t interested in women. They’re not easy to attract. I’ve dated eight, trust me on this.”
