“Yes,” Joycelyn replied shyly, blinking quickly. 

For a long time, she’d considered the idea of divorce. But throughout their entire relationship, Ellison had always looked out for her secretly. He always seemed to consider her feelings, making her feel secure. He hadn’t even asked her to sign a prenuptial agreement for his assets. 

She wasn’t heartless, but she’d kept her emotions in check, afraid of being hurt or manipulated.
