Joycelyn noticed that Ellison hadn’t moved and hadn’t eaten the cake she’d offered him. Suddenly, she felt like she had 

crossed a line. 

Her face froze for a moment, and she immediately pulled her hand back, lowering her head to eat the cake off the spoon herself. 

Joycelyn felt awkward and embarrassed inside. 

Why did I do something so intimate? I was just asking for trouble, she thought. 

Determined not to look back at Ellison, she focused on eating the cake, trying to avoid any further awkwardness. 

Ellison, leaning on the sofa with one hand, had moved to the carpet. 

Joycelyn, recognizing the moment, shifted over to make room for him. 

“Is it good?” Ellison asked, noticing her flushed face as she ate the cake intently. 

“It’s quite good. Let me get you a clean spoon.” Joycelyn, in her haste, hadn’t noticed a bit of cream on her lips. 

Ellison caught her hand as she reached for the spoon, gently pulling her toward him. 

“Aren’t you supposed to feed me? Hmm?” His voice was low and raspy, his gaze darkening. 

Joycelyn blinked, her head slightly lowering as she whispered, “I’m afraid you’ll dislike me feeding you something I’ve eaten.” 

Ellison’s eyes gleamed for a moment, his tone rich with mystery, “Have I ever had too little from you?” 

Without waiting for an answer, Ellisòn smiled faintly and lowered his head, capturing her lips. He took the cream from her lips with a soft kiss. 

For what felt like an eternity, Joycelyn was lost in the sensation, her body floating as if on a cloud. 

His kiss was unrestrained, but not harsh, and Joycelyn felt as if she were drifting in the air, weightless. 

The soft, wet sounds echoed in her ears as her heartbeat raced wildly. 

Neither of them closed their eyes, and Joycelyn’s heart raced. 

She could see nothing but his tender, deep eyes. 

The kiss lingered for what felt like two minutes, until Ellison finally pulled away, breathing heavily, his lips still close to hers. She felt his warm breath on her face, sending a shiver through her. 

Ellison cupped her face, his thumb brushing the corner of her mouth. With a soft press, he murmured, “You’re right, it is 

sweet.” 

Joycelyn’s body softened against him, feeling the weight of his presence as she melted into the sofa, breathy and delicate. She looked up at him, her gaze soft with a mixture of awe and desire.

“You…” Joycelyn’s voice was playful but soft, “You’re terrible.” 

Her soft, sultry tone sent a wave of heat through Ellison’s body, making him burn with desire. 

After she spoke, Joycelyn almost wanted to bite her own tongue. Those words, spoken after such a passionate kiss, carried a tantalizing mix of resistance and longing. 

Hearing his chuckle, she knew exactly what he was thinking. 

Their foreheads pressed together, his eyes full of warmth and mystery, his voice husky as he said, “Finish the cake, then go take a shower. Tonight, you’ll sleep in my room.” 

His breath was warm against her face, and his presence seemed to surround her entirely. Joycelyn’s heart raced, but she gathered her thoughts, saying with a soft blush, “I’m still on my period.” 

“I know.” Ellison’s throat moved slightly, holding back his desire. “We can do other things.” “Huh?” Joycelyn’s eyes widened slightly, confused at first, before her face flushed deeply. Before she could say anything else, she grabbed her things and quickly retreated upstairs. As she showered, she reflected quietly, thinking that her period should keep things in check. 

But when she finished and Ellison called her to bed, she walked into the room only to be pinned against the wall with another kiss. From the door to the bed, he didn’t go any further, but they did other things. 

The next morning, as Joycelyn worked on a proposal, her hands were slower than usual, each word typed with effort. 

She felt like she was in a daze. 

Selene, noticing her, immediately asked with concern, “Joycelyn, did you not sleep well last night? Did your boyfriend give you a hard time?” 

Joycelyn snapped back to reality, giving her a small smile, “No, I’m fine.” 

“Then why do you look so tired? You’re typing like you’re daydreaming. What’s going on?” 

Looking at Selene’s worried expression, Joycelyn almost wanted to cry. 

All because of Ellison. 

“It’s nothing, just a bit of a headache from drinking too much last night,” Joycelyn quickly made up an excuse. 

“Alright, as long as you’re okay.” Selene breathed a sigh of relief. “What does your boyfriend do, by the way? He sounds so strict. When I talked to him on the phone, I nearly broke into a sweat.” 

Joycelyn couldn’t help but agree. Being with Ellison always made her feel pressured. 

“He’s strict, but he has a good heart. He’s kind to me,” Joycelyn replied, her voice soft but sincere. 

Just as she was talking, Linda, who had just finished a high–level meeting, came back to the office with a cold expression. 

Joycelyn immediately turned serious and stopped chatting with Selene, getting back to work.
