Ellison’s jawline tightened, his eyes glaring at Joycelyn. His face owed no emotion, but anyone could see the subtle clenching of his jaw and the faint rise of his cheekbones,

“Why are you looking at me like you’re about to devour me? We agreed on getting married, not having kids, she said, trying to break the tension. 

It wasn’t that Joycelyn didn’t like kids; on the contrary, she really did. 

But their marriage was a bit unconventional, with little emotion foundation, and she feared that a child might not feel the warmth of a loving home. 

Ellison scoffed, “Mrs. Grant, with your acting skills, I should open a company and cast you as the lead. By the end of the year, you might even win Best Actress at the awards.” 

Joycelyn glanced at him, annoyed, as she buckled her seatbelt, her voice dripping with sarcasm. She couldn’t help but chuckle at the sight of him acting so gruff. 

This cold, aloof man spoke with such sharp words. 

Joycelyn said, “It’s not that I’m afraid you won’t raise the child well; with your resources, I’m sure you’ll provide a good life” for them. But you’re so busy…. 

“Can you really be the father that sets the right example? Will you have time to be there for the child? Babies don’t just grow 

well on their own, and I don’t think I’m ready for that.”

Ellison, however, understood her concern. “Then, if I can do what you’re asking, would you be willing?” he replied, his voice deep and steady. 

Joycelyn blinked, surprised. A soft expression formed on her face as she realized that Ellison was willing to accommodate 

her. 

She was caught off guard. 

When she didn’t respond immediately, Ellison let out a soft chuckle, “Ha, women,” he muttered. 

Joycelyn knew this laugh was him figuring out her true feelings. She couldn’t help but feel a little embarrassed and flustered. She turned her gaze out the window, trying to look calm. 

“Would rather raise a dog than have anything to do with me,” Ellison said coldly, his tone sharp as if the words themselves were enough to frustrate him. 

He was obviously upset, yet here he was, still playing the role of her chauffeur. 

His mood was clearly at an all–time low. 

“If you really feel that way, there’s nothing I can do,” Joycelyn replied, unsure of what else to say, deciding to just give up on the conversation.

Chapter 89 

Joycelyn didn’t know why Ellison, someone powerful and comped, would be bothered by something like this. 

She wanted to laugh but didn’t dare, worried he might get angry and leave her stranded 

Just as she was about to glance back out the window, she heard a lick. She turned her head slightly, wondering, ‘Is he really angry? 

But before she could react, Ellison’s large hand grabbed her chi pulling her face back toward him. 

“What are you doing?” she asked, trying to free herself from his grasp, 

“Not happy! Kiss me to let off some steam,” Ellison said, holding her chin and tilting her head back. 

Then, without warning, he kissed her–a deep, passionate kiss, cae that left her stunned. 

Joycelyn’s eyes widened in surprise. Ellison didn’t close his eyes, nstead locking her gaze with his–his eyes dark, intense. and commanding. 

His tongue pressed against hers, pulling her deeper into the kits. She gasped and instinctively tried to push him away, but Ellison didn’t budge. He pinned her to the scat, kissing her fiercely. 

There were pedestrians walking by outside, yet Ellison didn’t seem to care. 

Joycelyn felt like her face was on fire, almost suffocating from the intensity of the kiss. It wasn’t until she was red that Ellison finally pulled back.

His thumb brushed her swollen lips, wiping away a strand of silver. “Still can’t kiss properly after all this time. Silly.” 

Joycelyn, breathless, stared at him, her face flushed and eyes misty. 

Ellison’s gaze darkened as he fastened her seatbelt, then hit the gas to drive home. 

Meanwhile, Leah was on the rooftop of the building, talking on the phone, when she happened to see the two of them kissing in the car. 

It was so clear, it made her imagine herself in Joycelyn’s place, kissed by Ellison. Her body instantly grew hot with desire. Leah watched the car until it disappeared from sight, then she called her brother. “Kingston, I think Isolde’s recovery is going well. Do you think we can take her home soon? I could stay at the house and take care of her” 

Joycelyn opened the car window, trying to clear the steamy atmosphere in the car. She stared out at the darkening sky, trying to calm herself. 

She had thought that after the half–hour drive, Ellison would leave her alone, but when the car stopped, 

Ellison unbuckled his seatbelt and, without a word, helped Joycelyn do the same. 

Just when Joycelyn thought he was being gentlemanly and considerate, the next second, the seat reclined, and she was lying flat on her back. 

“Hey!” Joycelyn tried to sit up, but before she could, Ellison moved, sliding over from the driver’s seat, and hovered over her. Her petite frame fit comfortably in the luxurious seat of the Rolls Royce, but with Ellison pressing in next to hers, she
