“What is it?” I asked 

“From Randy’s death, the severed head, those horrifying photos, and the threats you received, everything pointed to a woman about five–foot–five tall. At first, all clues seemed to lead to Wisteria. However, Mr. Carter realized something–it didn’t add up. If someone like Wisteria wanted you dead, she wouldn’t be so obvious. Even her past actions were far more calculated

“She found out I was pregnant, didn’t she? Luther probably let it slip, and she used that knowledge to frame Wisteria. She staged everything–the murder scene, the severed head, the photos of my supposed death–all to break me mentally and use Wisteria’s name as a weapon. 

“She couldn’t get close enough to harm me physically because Carl kept me so well–protected. So she went after me psychologically, hoping the stress would make me miscarry.” 

Her goal was to make me live in constant fear, thinking Wisteria was always watching me. In the early stages of pregnancy, the development of the embryo is so delicate, and many women experience miscarriages within the first three months. 

Alisa certainly was not someone to underestimate. 

If it had not been for the obvious signs of her own miscarriage over the past couple of weeks and she did not have time to focus on me, she might have resorted to other ways of tormenting me.
