It made sense why Jeffrey chose to act last night–Whitney actually lived across from Alisa, so things could have gotten dangerous for her as tensions rose.

When Alisa showed up again, it seemed she had lost the child. Her nightgown was soaked in blood, and she looked at Luke standing in the courtyard with a black umbrella.

Luke sneered, his voice cold, “Alisa, I never planned on marrying you, let alone having a child with 

you. The moment you drugged me, I was disgusted.” 

“Disgusted?” 

After losing the child, Alisa seemed like a completely different person, her expression wild. “Do you 

think you are not disgusting? I know you still care about Chloe, but you were the one who pushed her away in the first place. Didn’t it disgust you when you were with someone else in your marriage bed? 

“Luke, no one will ever love you more than I do. You’ll be forever trapped in the pain of unrequited love! 

“Chloe fell for your uncle and even had a child with him. And you? You’ll spend your life alone, miserable! No I want you to suffer–nav for our child with your life!”

Seeing his genuine attempt to comfort me, I could not help but smile. “Yes, God is on my sid which is why I was reborn to see Carl again and even have a child with him. Maybe the world isn’t so bad after all.”
