Chapter 391
Elaina stared at Jalen until he disappeared from the entrance of the apartment. Tears welled up in her eyes, and she had to wipe them away from the corners of her eyes in case they streamed down her cheeks. She turned around and was about to go back.
However, when she turned around, she saw Jaydon standing not far away.
Jaydon was very embarrassed. He did not expect that just eating pasta at Elaina’s place would cause her and Jalen to break up.
Although it was what he wanted, he realized that he was not that happy when he really saw it
happen.
“Are… Are you alright? I didn’t do it on purpose.” He had a guilty conscience, not daring to look into
Elaina’s eyes.
Elaina walked past him and did not say anything.
“Ella, I didn’t expect you to break up with him. I…” Jaydon caught up with her, worried.
“It’s none of your business,” Elaina said. The tone of her voice was cold and plain.
Jaydon was just a trigger at most. Without him, when Elaina knew that she was a substitute, she would still break up with Jalen.
Jaydon heaved a sigh of relief when he heard her say that. He knew it. How could the pasta cause the two of them to break up? That was ridiculous.
Elaina walked into the elevator. Jaydon tried to follow her in, but Elaina stopped him coldly, “Why are you following me? It’s late now.”
“I’m afraid that you will be sad. So I think maybe you want my comfort.” Jaydon smiled dryly. It was a good thing that they broke up. Now he finally had a chance.
“No need.” With that, Elaina pressed the button to close the door. As the elevator door closed, she
disappeared from Jaydon’s sight.
Jaydon did not continue to follow her. Elaina might want to be alone for the time being. If he kept
pestering her, she might find him annoying.
