Chapter 398 Premiere, Presents, and Petty Jealousy
“Thank you, all of you,” Freya said sincerely as she accepted Waylon’s gift–then the others‘ one by one. Her heart was full.
These men were Louis’s closest brothers. If he didn’t truly value her, they wouldn’t be giving up work hours to boost her show’s ratings, let alone prepare gifts for her.
Now that Freya had arrived, Baylon tapped on his phone and called out, “Let’s bring out the food.”
In no time, staff began rolling in carts of dishes.
Ah, so they’d arranged a full banquet, too. Watching the premiere in a private suite, surrounded by great food, snacks, and friends–it was more special than she ever imagined.
But the real surprise came moments later–when Jasmine arrived.
“Jasmine!” Freya leapt to her feet. It had been so long since she’d seen this real–life fairy.
As always, Jasmine looked otherworldly, her face elegant and calm, beauty practically shimmering. Freya immediately slipped out of Louis’s grasp and ran to her, grabbing her hand and pulling her to the far seat at the edge of the group.
Waylon was fast–but Jasmine chose Freya over him.
When Waylon finally sat on Jasmine’s other side, he threw Freya a very wounded look.
But even with his silent protests, Freya had no intention of giving Jasmine up.
Was he kidding? It was rare enough that Jasmine had time and actually showed up. No way was she letting Waylon hog her.
“Louis, all of Freya’s favorite dishes are in the middle,” Waylon said through a forced smile, trying to nudge Louis into doing something.
He’d worked so hard to get Jasmine here. The least Louis could do as a fellow husband was rein in his wife!
It wasn’t like Louis didn’t want to sit next to Freya–he’d clearly tried. But Freya had broken free on purpose just to sit with Jasmine. And since Louis had always been the type to i lge his wife, all he could do now was pretend not to notice Waylon’s glaring.
Louis turned away with a calm expression.
Waylon wanted to punch something. What kind of couple is this?! They were happily in love and couldn’t care less about anyone else’s problems!
“You don’t have to worry,” Freya said casually. “I don’t eat much.”
But I care! Waylon cried silently/Freya had Jasmine’s full attention now, and he was absolutely miserable
about it.
Still smiling through clenched teeth, Waylon pressed on. “Freya, your seat has a bad angle. It’s your big premiere, you should sit in the middle for the best view!”
Freya waved him off. “It’s fine. You can see from anywhere. Doesn’t make a difference.”
Waylon finally lost it, “Freya, Louis went to all this trouble to set everything up for you. Shouldn’t you at least sit next to him for the premiere?” He even gestured toward his own gift. Come on, I gave you a present. Can’t you not sabotage my love life just this once?
His words made Freya pause. He had a point. She might be Louis’s wife, but Waylon had put in effort too. And it really would be a shame to crush someone else’s chances at romance without reason.
So, she got up and shuffled over to the center seat, pulling Jasmine along with her. Now she sat between Louis and Jasmine–best of both worlds.
