“Hey, just from the opening theme alone, this already looks great. Totally different from the over–the–top flashy stuff we usually get. It actually feels like a real historical drama!”

Baylon leaned forward, genuinely surprised. “Freya must’ve lucked out with this production team–they clearly cared.”

Baylon might not work in the entertainment industry, but having a celebrity friend meant he’d picked up some basics by now. And frankly, just from the visuals, this drama looked more polished than some of Kendrick’s earlier projects–not cheap or tacky at all.

Kendrick immediately frowned. “Baylon, this is a Zane production. Try to keep up, alright?”

“I told you before–Zane never puts out trash. I was honestly surprised when Freya’s drama got picked up by him, but now it makes sense. Plus, with Mr. Daniel doing the script revision, no wonder it turned out this good. Just being part of this production is already a gold star on her resume. It’ll make her path as a writer way smoother from now on.”

Baylon refused to admit ignorance. “You say so much stuff all the time, how was I supposed to know which part to remember? You’re the actor, not me. I’m just here judging the surface–level stuff–which, honestly, makes my opinion more objective.”

Quinton nodded from the side. “The production quality’s excellent. Even the intro’s edited well. It’s a good use of Freya’s story.”

Freya smiled. “I trust Zane wouldn’t waste my script. And he’s not the type to lose money–of course he’d do his best.”

When she first learned Zane had picked up the adaptation, she’d researched him thoroughly. Out of his ten projects, at least seven had been massive hits. The remaining three, while less commercially successful, still maintained decent viewership because of niche topics. She had no reason to worry about her work being ruined.

And more importantly, their interests were aligned. No one would slack off when profits were involved- who would willingly lose money?

As the drama began in earnest, Freya automatically switched into writer mode, comparing each scene to her original manuscript. She’d been involved in the adaptation process too, so she had a clear idea of what was kept and what might’ve been trimmed for censorship or pacing.

Everyone watched while eating, sometimes pausing to comment or throw a question Freya’s way.

“Freya, why isn’t the female lead just telling the guy who she is? This doesn’t make sense. She’s causing unnecessary drama. Now he doesn’t even know who she is. What, are we about to get a mistaken identity plotline?”

Baylon, not normally one for dramas, was completely invested now–and visibly stressed.

“Baylon, seriously?” Kendrick groaned. “If characters just said everything upfront, there’d be no story. What do you want, a one–episode series with a full wrap–up?”

But just as Kendrick finished his sentence… the female lead on screen turned to the male lead and plainly
