Chapter 24- Diane
Lora had just pulled an all–nighter when her phone rang early in the morning. When she saw who was calling, her eyes lit up as she picked up the call, “Uncle”
“Good morning. Lora, I came back last night,” the man said on the phone.
“That’s great, Uncle! Are you here for good or…?” Lora asked.

The man chuckled on the phone. He answered, “Let’s talk in person. How about I treat my dear niece to lunch today?”
Lora sighed. She asked, “Uncle, do you still not want to go home? We can have lunch at home. Dad misses you a lot.”
There was a pause on the other side of the phone before a response came. “I miss my brother too but I’ll be nagged the moment I step foot there… you know I gave up the family jewelry business and your father wasn’t happy about it. So, for now, let’s just say I’m scared of his wrath… save your dear uncle, ok?”
Lora laughed in amusement. She nodded even though he couldn’t see her through the phone before saying, “Ok, I’ll meet you in th ernoon for lunch, Uncle.”
When the call was cut, Lora continued her work. In the afternoon, she placed her documents in a file and put them in a drawer under her desk. Thereafter, she grabbed her bag and left her office.
It didn’t take long for her to arrive at the restaurant. She walked in and looked around. When she saw a young handsome man with dark brown hair and hazel eyes, she smiled to herself.
The man was innocently sipping on a cup of coffee but the ladies in the restaurant couldn’t stop admiring his charm.
Lora approached the man and exclaimed, “Hi, Uncle Alden!”
Aiden Davis raised his head when he heard Lora’s voice. He smiled, showing his perfect dimples.
“Lora!” Aiden got to his feet and hugged his niece. “I missed you so much kiddo.”
Aiden Davis was Jack Davis‘ younger brother who was born when Jack was already married. Aiden was the same age as Lora even though their relationship was uncle and niece, so they got along well.
“I missed you more and the twins couldn’t stop asking about you!” Lora exclaimed.
They took their seats and ordered their food before continuing to catch up.
Alden glanced at Lora and remarked, “I saw your plagiarism story when I got off the plane last night. What -happened? Do you need your handsome uncle to help you out?”
Lora laughed out loud. She replied, “Oh uncle, everyone knows you’re handsome. You don’t need to emphasise it every time.”
The waiter came through to serve their drinks and Lora paused for a few seconds. When the waiter left, she looked at her uncle and said, “Don’t worry, Uncle. I’ve got everything under control.”
Alden frowned. He stated, “I just don’t want anyone to bully my niece.”
“No one can bully me, Uncle. You taught me how to protect myself, remember?” Lora remarked.

Aiden nodded and smirked, exposing a dimple on one side. He replied, “It seems you’ve improved a lot in the few months that I was away from you guys.”

While Lora and Aiden continued to eat and chat, Ryan entered the restaurant with a dark–haired woman by his side.
“Bro, it’s been long since you bought me a meal,” Diane said, grabbing Ryan’s arm excitedly.
Diane Kingsley was Ryan’s sister. Their mother had two children before she died and their father married someone else who later had a daughter.
Ryan smiled and replied gently, “Eat whatever you want, little sis.”
He suddenly saw a familiar figure in the restaurant and his eyes squinted. ‘She’s on a date with another man again‘
A flare of fierce jealousy rushed through him and before he knew it, he was approaching their table.
“Miss Davis…” He called out through clenched teeth. Lora raised her head and frowned when she saw Ryan. She was about to respond when Ryan beat her to it.
He arched an eyebrow and c on dates with different men:

Lora furrowed her eyebrows. She glared at Ryan and spat, “You have no right to interfere in my private life, Mr Kingsley.”
Ryan’s jaw clenched. He was so angry that he wanted to punch the man who was having lunch with Lora.
“Larisa? You’re alive?!” Diane who had been shocked after seeing Lora finally exclaimed.
Ryan glanced at his sister and explained, “This is Lora Davis, She’s the new CEO of Davis & Co. and Mr Jack Davis‘ daughter.”
Diane’s eyes that had watered with tears widened into the size of dinner plates. Lora was so identical to her late sister–in–law, Larisa, and if she didn’t have a different name, Diane would have thought she was
the one.
After a few seconds, Diane recovered quickly. She looked at Lora and remarked, “Nice to meet Miss
you, Davis, my name is Diane Kingsley and I’m Ryan’s baby sister. I have a feeling we are going to be great friends.”
