Earlier, before Ivy arrived at the venue, Ryan glanced at Adan and asked, “Is the gift ready?”
Adan laughed when he remembered what gift Ryan was talking about. He shook his head and said, “You know what… I had forgotten how crazy you can be. How did you even think of that?”
Ryan smirked. He remarked, “Ivy is cunning… if I just accused her of being able to walk in public, do you think she would willingly accept defeat? She would probably put on a show and make us look like we are bullying a poor disabled woman.”
With Ivy's acting skills, Ryan was very sure she would manage to weave herself out of a difficult situation. What he wanted was to expose her clearly in front of everybody so that everyone knows what kind of snake she was.
“Well, I must say your plan is genius. Ivy won’t even realise that she’s exposed herself until a few seconds later,” Adan responded. "I have it close by. When you need it, I'll bring it to you."
Ryan nodded. Tonight, he was determined to deal with Ivy once and for all.
Soon, Ivy arrived and Ryan’s stomach churned when she approached him and smiled sweetly. How could she still be happy after causing someone’s death? Was she even human?
Ryan was so disgusted with himself. This was the person he trusted just because she had saved his life twice. He was such a fool.
Now that he saw her for the evil woman that she was, pretending to like her made him feel sick. Just the thought of getting engaged to her, even if it was fake, made him want to throw up.
However, for Lora and his children, he had to stay strong and maintain his façade. Only then would he be able to punish Ivy.
For Ivy, her reputation was very important… she really cared about what others, especially high-society elites thought of her. Exposing her in front of the whole country would be the best punishment… she would get arrested in front of everyone and everyone would know the real her.
This was Ivy's worst nightmare and Ryan would make sure he gave her the best experience.
He went to the stage and invited Ivy to join him on the stage. When he told her he had a gift for her, he scoffed when he saw the huge grin on her face.
However, he maintained his poker face and got the box that contained Ivy’s special gift from Adan.
A smirk crossed Ryan’s lips when he took out the gift and placed it on Ivy’s lap.
Gasps echoed around the hall before it fell into complete silence. Everyone was looking at the gift that Ryan had put on Ivy’s lap in shock.
Ryan smiled and told Ivy. “Ivy, you can now open your eyes and see your gift.”
Ivy smiled smugly and slowly opened her eyes. However, when she looked at her lap, she saw something shiny slithering on her lap and flicking its tongue at her.
Before Ivy could tell what was happening, her heart jumped out of her chest just as she jumped out of her wheelchair before jumping around hysterically.
“AH! Get it off! Get it off! Ah!”
“I hate snakes! Ah! Take it away!”
She felt like something crawled down her leg and she jumped higher than before as though she was in a skipping rope competition.
“AH! Ryan! Get it off me, please!” Ivy screamed, forgetting about her ladylike image.
The hall fell silent as they watched Ivy jump like her life depended on it.
Wasn’t she disabled? How come her legs were so strong? Could it be a miracle?
A murmur swept through the crowd as they all glanced at Ivy with shock and confusion. She didn’t look like someone who had suddenly regained feeling in her legs.
