Chapter 339
Alfred drove quickly toward the West District. At the same time, he opened the map and observed the surroundings of the target location.
Lea transmitted the location to the smart system of the car and sent the address of the base to Vincent, asking him to go to the base to help Ralph and the others first. Then she sent Quicksilver’s location to Jason and Luke. Whereas Alfred shared the location with Craig.
Even at night, there was still a lot of traffic, and the road conditions were still okay.
The car sped out of the hospital and quickly onto the highway, heading straight for their destination.
In the car, Lea kept her eyes on Quicksilver’s location on the phone, and he remained stationary. Lea’s throat felt as if her throat was being constricted, making it hard to breathe.
Alfred told Quicksilver to walk toward a crowded place, but he hadn’t moved and was trapped at the original spot.
In the big city bathed in endless neon lights, shadows loomed like countless lurking predators, waiting to attack at any
moment.
Every second counted with life hanging in the balance.
Lea’s gaze was fixed on the location displayed on her phone. The light from the screen reflected into her eyes, making them look deep and bright.
One second, two seconds, three seconds…
After more than ten seconds, the red dot on the location suddenly moved a little, then stopped for suddenly accelerating.
Judging by the speed, Quicksilver had gotten into a car.
As the location shifted, the map on the screen updated accordingly.
Lea took a deep breath and heaved a sigh of relief. “Onto the expressway, heading east.”
Alfred nodded and looked at the map on the smart system before turning the steering wheel.
Meanwhile, the location was shared with Craig, Jason, Luke, and the others.
a moment before
Lea kept her eyes on the moving red dot, knowing that as long as it kept moving, Quicksilver was still alive.
However, less than ten minutes later, the red dot suddenly stopped.
Lea’s breath hitched.
Alfred saw it too and gripped the steering wheel tightly. He had been driving at twice the usual speed, pushing the car to its limits several times
Seeing that the entrance to the highway was just ahead, he desperately wanted to rush over to save Quicksilver’s life. But the narrow intersection and heavy traffic forced him to slow down.
As soon as he reached the intersection, all the cars in front of him stopped, bringing his car to a halt. Under the night sky, the long line of cars seemed endless.
Lea quickly swiped her screen, zooming out to see a bird’s eye view of the entire highway segment via the drone.

Chapter 339
The situation on the road where the red dot was located became clear.
+51
The central divider of the two way road was damaged by a vehicle collision, causing a multi–car pileup and a massive traffic jam.
“Those people caused the accident and forced the car to stop, so Quicksilver wouldn’t be able to escape,” Lea said.
They were only about half a mile miles away from the location if the red dot..
Lea reached for the door, ready to get out and find a way to rush over since it was a short distance.
“Lea!” Alfred grabbed her wrist and stopped her, “Craig and the others are on their way. They’ll be faster.”
Lea turned to look at him. Behind her, a blue flickering light shone through the car window, followed by the sound of sirens.
The police arrived on motorcycles because they couldn’t get through the congested road by cars.
There were more than a dozen police officers and many more who had been notified continued to head over.
“There’s also a helicopter. Craig and the others are on it.” As soon as Alfred finished speaking, the roar of a helicopter came from the sky.
Right then, a police motorcycle zoomed past her window with a loud “whoosh“. It was Craig.
Lea’s pupils dilated as she looked at him in surprise.
The police officers arrived right after the accident had taken place. Even the helicopter had rushed over. Lea supposed they should have set off at the same time as them.
As the heir to the Andrews family, Alfred was certainly capable of mobilizing such manpower. However, after his dispute with Blake, he wasn’t allowed to use any family resources. Therefore, this was all achieved through his own means.
Being so competent and having come back to life more than two years ahead of Lea, he has already established his own influence.
The police’s swift action and their presence could deter the attackers. Therefore, Lea didn’t need to rush over herself.
She heaved a sigh of relief and retracted her hand from the car door. Her previously taut nerves relaxed, feeling significantly less anxious.
Alfred gave her a strong sense of security.
She felt incredibly fortunate to have someone to rely on. It was what it felt like to be supported, protected, and cherished.
Alfred let go of Lea’s hand, and she quickly shared Quicksilver’s location detected by the drone with Alfred and Craig. Then, they sat in the car, waiting.
The car accident scene on the highway was chaotic, with various lights – headlights, streetlights, flashlights, emergency lights–forming a web of beams and shadows.
The painful cries of the injured, the grief of their family, and the anxious voices of the crowd intertwined, creating a scene of tragic disorder.
About 300 feet away from the accident, a taxi was trapped in the middle. Inside, a man gripped the steering wheel, his sharp eyes peering ahead through thick glasses, sweat streaming down from his temples.
