Ryan’s face was full of rage. His shout attracted everyone’s attention.
May’s mouth curved up at the corners as she sneered, satisfied.
Sherry, who’d been assigned a corner table, heard Ryan’s voice and trembled.
The Jackson family wasn’t some big clan in Kato, but because of the Harmony Group’s rapid development these past few years, they had some power in the city.
“Hurry and apologize to your uncle, Tracy!”
Sherry urged hastily, afraid of Ryan’s reprisal if the apology came late.
Hearing Sherry’s words, the surrounding guests looked at her in contempt.
When Amber and Peter had come down on Tracy and Yuri, as their mother, Sherry had simply hid off to the side and said nothing.
Now that Ryan was forcing Tracy to apologize, Sherry was putting her own daughter in the line of fire.
Tracy and Yuri had long since lost all hope with her, so her words didn’t bother them particularly.
Baron looked at Ryan, a severe glint in his eyes.
Tracy stood up and looked at Ryan calmly. “I didn’t do anything wrong. Why should I apologize?”
“What do you mean you didn’t do anything wrong? As a junior, you insulted my wife in public. Why shouldn’t you apologize?” Ryan growled.
Tracy scoffed. “If you owe money, you should pay it back! Your wife said so herself, and everyone here heard it. How am I insulting her?”
“Bullshit!”
Ryan raged. “The Jackson family has a hundred percent of shares in the Harmony Group, so how is it possible for us to default on a debt?”
“You’ll have to ask her that!”
Tracy said mildly. “I want to know too. The Harmony Group is worth tens of millions. As its inheritor, how could your wife continue to owe five hundred thousand for four years and not pay back a single dime?
“Or maybe the Harmony Group is just for show, is actually broke, and can’t even produce five hundred thousand?”
Tracy’s words shocked the audience!
Ryan was the only heir to the Harmony Group. Even though Karl was still the chairman, Ryan had already started taking charge of the company.
Tracy was here doubting their capability to produce a measly five hundred thousand.
“Enough!”
Ryan spat. “The Harmony Group is developing just fine, and we’ve no need for an outsider to come butting in!”
Ryan could feel that something was wrong. He shot a glance at Amber and saw the unease in her eyes.
Clearly, Tracy wasn’t lying. It really was Amber who had defaulted on the debt.
Of course, Ryan wasn’t going to put Amber to the question in public. He just glared at Tracy and threatened, “You need proof, girl. Without proof, this is libel, and I can sue you for trying to ruin the Harmony Group’s reputation!”
“Go on and sue me. If I can’t take it, it’s my loss!”
Tracy said authoritatively, without any regard for Ryan’s threats.
Up until this moment, Ryan realized that this woman wasn’t quite so easily dealt with.
Then, a convoy of million-dollar luxury cars rolled up in front of the ranch.
“The guests you invited are here!”
Peter came inside, all smiles.
“Sorry I’m late, Mr. Jackson. There was an important meeting. I came here as soon as I could.”
A middle-aged figure chortled as he swaggered into the banquet hall. There was a beautiful young woman clinging to his arm.
“Hah, no worries. It’s my nephew’s honor that you can came visit his wedding in person! Came inside!”
Ryan laughed, pleased.
“Congratulations, Mr. Jackson!”
“Yes, heartiest congratulations, Mr. Jackson!”
…
Following in the first one’s footsteps, almost a dozen Kato business tycoons arrived on the scene.
Without fail, every one of them had come because Ryan had invited them.
People who didn’t know would have thought that it was Ryan’s son who was getting married today.
