Seeing Ryan and Peter getting chewed out in public, everyone was in shock.
If it’d just been Peter, fine. But Ryan was the heir to the Harmony Group and Karl had already given him the company to manage. Soon, he’d be chairman.
Now, though, Camel was insulting him in public with no regard for his reputation.
The smile froze on Ryan’s face, and doubts sprang up in his mind.
He had the highest status of everyone here. If Camel hadn’t come for him, who had he come here for?
Could it be that Camel wasn’t the bigshot Karl had talked about?
Was Camel himself here for the said bigshot?
Thinking that far, Ryan’s heart was shaken.
Even Camel was coming here personally to meet such a bigshot, so how important a figure could they be?
“Isn’t that Mr. Ellis?”
Yuri looked at Camel and asked Baron in surprise.
Baron frowned. He hadn’t told Camel to come.
Within the stunned crowd, Camel came to Baron’s table and walked right past Baron, ignoring him while smiling at Yuri. “Hello, Miss Perry!”
Yuri still wore an expression of surprise as she hurriedly replied, “Good day, Mr. Ellis!”
Up until now, she’d been confused. She’d known about Camel and Baron’s relationship and thought that Camel was here for Baron. But the man simply greeted her and stayed silent.
Didn’t bid one eye at Baron all the way through. Seemed like they really didn’t know each other.
Many people there were relatives of the Zouch family. They might have known about Kato Prosperity, but not many of them knew who Camel was.
Of course, it wasn’t all Zouch relatives there. There were also the tycoons that Ryan had invited over.
They all knew who Camel was.
“Hello, Mr. Ellis, I’m…”
“Fuck off!”
One of the tycoons Ryan had invited came up to Camel and had just started with his greeting when Camel shouted him down in public.
The man’s smile froze, but Camel’s position and status were both extremely high. Forget yelling at them, even if he struck them, they wouldn’t have dared say anything about it.
Ever since the Porter family was exterminated and Kato Prosperity found itself under Camel, it had developed even greater power. In two short months, Kato Prosperity had become the largest enterprise in Kato.
And Camel’s status could be compared to the heads of the Maguire and Woods families.
In Camel’s eyes, the Harmony Group was just bottom-feeding trash. Forget the even smaller industries that Ryan had called over.
Soon, no one else dared sidle up to Camel.
After Camel entered the banquet hall, other than greeting Yuri, he didn’t say anything else. It was as if he was waiting for someone.
“Mr. Jackson, this Camel doesn’t give a damn about us!”
“Seems like he’s waiting for someone?”
“That doesn’t make sense! Even Tom Maguire and Walter Woods don’t get to keep Camel waiting, right?”
“Someone who could get Camel to wait – could it be some bigshot from the city?”
…
The bosses on Ryan’s table murmured amongst themselves, shock written across their faces.
Ryan himself was fearful. Karl had just told him to come attend the Zouch wedding because some important figure was coming. But the wedding was about to start, and no bigshot had arrived other than Camel.
Looking at Camel, it seemed like he too was waiting. If that bigshot really came here, judging from Camel’s attitude towards him, he might not have an opportunity to make contact at all.
“Why are you here?”
