Invincible Heir novel Chapter 35

In the doorway of Perry courtyard, Baron got out of his car and found to his surprise that Tracy and Lara were waiting at the door.

“Daddy!” Lara ran towards him cheeringly when she saw Baron.

“Lara, be careful!” Baron said and took Lara in his arms for fear that the little girl would fall to the ground.

In her father’s arms, Lara giggled happily and waved her hand toward Tracy, “Mom, hurry up! We are going to see the animals!”

The sight of the happy scene warmed her heart, and Tracy walked toward them.

The zoo was in the suburbs and it took nearly forty minutes to arrive.

“Daddy, maybe you should do it!” Lara took her father’s hand in one hand and mother’s in the other, and then put their hands together.

When Tracy touched Baron’s broad hand, she shivered slightly with rosy cheeks.

Tracy’s hand was much softer than Baron expected. At this moment he felt butterflies in his stomach, heart beating fast. It was literally more nerve-racking than to fight at war.

Baron stole a glance at Tracy and found that she blushed as red as a rose. She didn't resist, so he felt at ease holding her hand tight.

Tracy lowered her head with a sheepish grin, for she hadn’t felt this warm for long, in particular before her husband who got lost for 5 years, so she was not about to throw off his hand. ‘We're just holding hands. He is my lawful husband. Why do I concern about it?’ Tracy thought.

“Daddy, a hug, please.” Lara opened her arms and gave Baron puppy-dog eyes.

Baron smiled, held her up on his shoulders and walked into the zoo.

“Daddy, tigers!” Lara shouted excitedly, pointing ahead.

“Daddy, lions!”

“Oh, giraffes!”

“Daddy, look at the gorillas!”

Lara was excited all the way, and her parents hold hands all the time.

Not until their palms sweat did Tracy withdraw her hand casually, “I'll take a picture of you.” She moved forward with a camera.

“Click!” Baron got his first photo with Lara. In the photo, Lara was riding on Baron’s shoulders and holding his two ears, with big smiles on their faces.

Lara spent the day with excitement. Because of their lovely daughter, Baron and Tracy were closer than before.

As night was about to fall, Baron drove them home. After a happy day, Lara fell asleep in Tracy’s arms soundly.

Suddenly, a black jeep rushed towards them. Baron knew at once what was going on.

“Hold Lara tight!” he reminded Tracy. A hint of angry showed on his face.

Baron braked hard without hesitation, and he managed to avoid a crash by the jeep.

Baron looked back, and fortunately none of them were hurt, even Lara was still asleep.

“Are you OK?” Baron asked after warding off the hit.

“We’re fine.” Tracy nodded, while her heart was still thumping with fear.

“Good.” If he braked a bit slowly, they would die.

If someone tried to hurt the ones he loved most, he would just pay him back by ending his life!

‘It wasn't an accident but a murder!’ Baron thought. And this suspicion was confirmed when the jeep continued to follow Baron’s car.

Just at that moment, another black car suddenly appeared, smashing into the jeep without even slowing down. The jeep tires screeched as it was hit off the road.

Seconds later, a man got out of the black car. It was Charles.

“There seems to be a car accident,” asked Tracy in surprise.
