Chapter 29 

“You should have apologized to me long ago, but I don’t want to forgive you.” 

For a moment, both Ethan and Tony didn’t know what to say. 

They truly regretted it, but they were also helpless. 

They had never been able to control her. 

Before they could continue pleading, Joshua’s men had already surrounded them. 

“Mr. Green, please leave.” 

A group of bodyguards in black surrounded them, blocking their path without mercy. 

Ethan shoved one of the bodyguards aside and rushed in front of Katerina as fast as he could, his 

eyes dark with desperation. 

“Kate, have you really fallen for him? What were we to you before? That day, when you reached out to me, were you trying to confess to me? Was that love letter for me?” 

His voice trembled as he finally asked the question that had been buried deep in his heart for so 

long. 

“I’ll tell you now–I’m willing to marry you. I’m willing to wait for you to divorce and come back to 

find me. I’m willing to be your backup option. Don’t give up on me. Please?” 

The man, who had always been high above others, was now bowing his head, desperately pleading. 

Katerina, however, didn’t hesitate to lean into Joshua’s embrace, her tone firm. 

“No, that love letter wasn’t for you. I never thought of confessing to you, nor do I want any backup options. You’re just my brother, Ethan. Please, don’t do this anymore. I don’t need you anymore. 

“And you, Tony, the same goes for you. I’ve started a new life and have begun to like Joshua. You 

both should move on.” 

As she spoke, she took Joshua’s hand and began to leave. 

Joshua turned around and gave them a stern warning glance. Then, when he looked back at Katerina, his eyes were filled with tenderness.

Sure, I’ll follow you,” Katerina said without hesitation. 

In truth, this upscale neighborhood had great security and a peaceful environment. 

The only thing noisy was Ethan and Tony. 

They stood there, dejected, watching Katerina’s back. 

Just a brother? 

For the past twenty years, they had never considered that possibility. 

From the moment they laid eyes on her, they had imagined her as their future wife. 

How could they accept this? 

Didn’t they apologize already? Why…? 

Ethan and Tony were both engulfed by a deep sense of desolation. 

Back home, Ethan, as he did when he was younger and had upset Katerina, wrote apology letters to admit his wrongs. 

However, the apology letters filled an entire box, and when they were sent to Katerina’s new address, none were signed for. They were all returned unopened. 

The usually busy Mr. Green, whose office was piled high with countless letters of apology and confessions of love, found that not a single one had been accepted. 

The jewelry collection called “Kate” that Green Group had released some time ago had quietly been pulled from the market, and all related news had vanished. 

In an attempt to make things right with Katerina, he released a series of jewelry pieces called “Apology,” along with other products. He hoped that one day, she would see them and forgive him. 

Joshua had protected her so well that Ethan had tried countless times to run into her by chance, but never succeeded. He could only apologize this way.
