Losing to My Substitute (Katerina and Joshu) novel Chapter 6

hapter 6

As for Joshua’s identity, she wasn’t clear about it and didn’t know how to explain.

Just as she was about to speak, Bethany’s mother suddenly brought up a pot of hot soup, exchanged

a glance with Bethany, and gave an almost imperceptible nod.

Then, pretending to lose her grip, she spilled the entire pot of hot soup.

“Look out!”

Ethan, Tony, and Andrew all rushed to protect Bethany, afraid that even a drop of hot soup might scald her.

Not one of them protected Katerina.

“Ah-”

The scalding chicken soup poured all over Katerina. She sharply inhaled, her entire body turning red from the burns, tears welling up in her eyes from the pain.

Seeing the satisfaction in Bethany’s mother’s eyes, Katerina immediately understood and asked in a trembling voice:

“You did this on purpose?”

At these words, Bethany’s mother first froze, then immediately burst into tears. “Miss, what are you saying? How could I do it on purpose? I know it’s all my fault that you got burned, but how can you accuse me like this?”

Seeing her mother humiliated, Bethany quickly emerged from the brothers‘ protective circle and resolutely stood in front of her mother, crystal tears in her eyes.

“Young Miss, we may be poor, but we have dignity and pride. We won’t let you insult us like this!”

“If that’s how you feel, then we’ll leave!

She turned around, held her mother’s hand, and the two walked out together.

Watching the mother and daughter leave, Ethan looked at Katerina with complete dissatisfaction and angrily rebuked her:

Losing to My Substitute

Only after the three left did Katerina belatedly feel the pain on her body. A large area of her skin was burning with pain. When she tried to stand up, the pain made her body sway, and she collapsed to the ground.

When she woke up, Katerina opened her eyes to see Mr. and Mrs. Green keeping watch by her bedside.
