On the way back, Andrew held Madelyn’s hand the entire time in the car. Although she seemed carefree with Annie at the restaurant earlier, her mind was in turmoil.

When they arrived at Serenity Villa, Madelyn immediately went to open the car door but was stopped by Andrew.

“Are you upset?”

She turned her head and met his gentle gaze, making her heart ache even more.

At that moment, Madelyn realized that even though she hadn’t mentioned her hospital visit in the morning, Andrew knew everything.

Sensing her hesitation to respond, Andrew pulled her from the passenger seat and into his arms.

In the past, such a move would have made Madelyn dizzy, but she has since grown accustomed to it, and the world didn’t feel like it was spinning anymore.

As their breaths mingled, she wrapped her arms around him and snuggled against his neck.

“Darling, let’s…”

The word “divorce” was stuck in her throat.

She couldn’t bear to divorce him!

Seeing Damian’s change for Annie made her realize how important children were to a couple.

The doctor’s words echoed in her mind. She couldn’t imagine a future with Andrew without children.

“What’s wrong?”

“I went for a checkup today.”

“Why? Do you feel unwell?” Andrew asked despite already knowing the answer.

He already knew the reason for her check–up before he looked for her at the hospital.

After discovering that Elena had put contraceptives in their food, he understood that if Madelyn cared, she would get herself checked.

He was happy that she took the initiative to go for a

checkup. He felt it showed that she cared about their future.

Yet, seeing her so upset now made him wish she didn’t care about such things.”

“The doctor said it’s difficult for me to get pregnant…” 

“Then we’ll work on it, okay?”
