When did Madelyn stop calling Grace “Mom? How did she manage to turn the Millers against her when they had once loved and doted on her?

The change seemed to have happened after her return to the Garcia family.

Andrew attributed her change to Elena, who was constantly sowing discord. At this moment, his trust in Madelyn grew.

“Maybe not today. Just listen to me,” he replied.

From Grace’s hint, Andrew guessed that something serious must have happened at the Miller residence. He refused to bring Madelyn back home at such a sensitive time and subject her to abuse.

However, Madelyn would not be talked out of it. “Darling, I know you’re worried about. me, but I’ll be nice around your grandma and mom because I’ve decided to be with you.”

She quietly ran the timelines through her head, thinking, “Around this time, Elena was making a fuss at the Miller residence because I hurt Andrew.”

Although Madelyn’s attitude had changed in the present life, the sequence of events. would not shift. She concluded that Elena was the individual most likely to rat her

out.

Besides, this was not Elena’s first time pulling tricks under the table to turn the Millers against her. Elena would definitely take advantage of the situation.

Hearing that, Andrew did not want her to tag along, not when the Millers were resentful toward her because she had injured him.

They would definitely hurl hurtful remarks at Madelyn, and he did not have the heart to put her through the ordeal–especially not right after she changed her mind about him. He didn’t want her to feel discouraged.

“I’ll take care of this matter. You can visit them tomorrow.”

Watching him leave, Madelyn felt bitter yet touched. In her past life, he had defended. her in a similar fashion. Even when he was hospitalized, he stopped his family from calling her.

Why did she fail to notice his loving gestures at that time? She slapped herself twice. on her cheek, repenting for her unreasonable behavior in the past life.

“Mrs. Miller, what are you doing to yourself? Mr. Miller cares about you. That’s why he believes it’s not the right time for you to visit the Miller residence.” David hurried over to coax Madelyn after she slapped herself.

He knew that Andrew stopped Madelyn from tagging along to protect her.

She paused in surprise and turned to David. “How do you know about that?”

“Mrs. Miller, we work for Mr. Miller, you know.”

Relief washed over her.

Ten minutes after Andrew departed, Madelyn made her way to the Garcia residence.

Upon her arrival, she spotted Elena getting out of a car with a smug look. Elena looked gleeful as if she had successfully pulled off a wicked move.

Elena, holding the gifts she received at the Miller residence, proceeded to enter the house. However, Madelyn stopped her, saying, “Hey, stay there.”

Elena froze when she heard Madelyn’s voice.

When she snapped around and met Madelyn’s threatening gaze, she stumbled backward in fear. Even so, she didn’t forget to hold the gifts tight.

“Why are you here?”

“What do you think?” Marching over, Madelyn glanced at the high–end velvet box in Elena’s hold. If she guessed correctly, that box contained Athena’s diamond jewelry worth seven million dollars.

She instantly snatched the box away, much to Elena’s horror. Elena gasped. “What are you doing?”

“How dare you ask me? You don’t deserve this.” Madelyn knew that Elena must have badmouthed her in front of Athena and coaxed Athena into giving out the expensive jewelry.

Elena had received many expensive items from Athena in her past life as well, and

Caleb recognized him as the best bodyguard working for Andrew. Therefore, he stopped short of lashing out and addressed Madelyn with restraint, “Come in.”
