Madelyn stayed at the Miller residence for an hour to comfort Grace and Athena. Andrew did not appear.

When it was almost 6:00 pm, she looked at her wristwatch,

pretending to be anxious.

Grace asked, “Are you rushing for something?”

“Andrew will be getting off work soon.”

“Oh, Madelyn,” Grace rebuked her in amusement, though her voice was filled with fondness.

Athena was still angry. She waved a hand at Grace. “Alright, the two of them are finally getting on better. Let her go.”

“Thank you, Grandma,” Madelyn said sweetly.

Grace finally let go of her hand and told her to hurry home.

The two of them watched Madelyn leave. Athena was still so angry. that she was beating at her chest. Grace hurried up to comfort her, saying, “After your 80th birthday, I’ll pay the Garcias a visit!”

“You’re right. If they won’t even acknowledge their own daughter, how can they raise anyone well?” The more she thought about it, the angrier Athena was.

Grace was angry too, although she wasn’t as furious as Athena was. However, she had been affected by Elena as well, and for a long time, she had even been disdainful of Madelyn, whom she raised.

Andrew looked down at Madelyn and saw how irritated she was. He said to Ryan, “Thank you.”

“My pleasure, Mr. Andrew. You should take Ms. Garcia home. She must have gotten quite a fright.”

Didn’t I tell you to wait for me before going in? You didn’t listen, and that’s your punishment.”

“If you’re going to blame me, I’m going to ignore you.” Madelyn was even more annoyed that Andrew wasn’t admitting to his faults.

Andrew saw that she was angry, and his gaze grew even fonder. His eyes seemed as deep as the sea, and they drew her to him. inexorably. In this life, Madelyn could not resist beautiful things.

“Okay. Whatever you say, Mrs. Miller.” Andrew hugged her and gave her a kiss. She tasted sweetness on his lips, and the beast inside his body was released at once.
