There was a moment of silence. After a long pause, Zane smiled and said, “Mrs. Robinson, you shouldn’t falsely accuse innocent people.”

“Exactly. We are all legitimate businessmen!” Fedrick chimed in earnestly.

“Whether or not you’re legitimate businessmen is not for me to decide. However, I believe Logan would be quite interested.” Layla calmly continued, “As for me, I’m just a clueless heiress, but Logan is not. If I were to repeat what I just mentioned, I wonder if he would take notice.”

“You are sneaky !” Fedrick could not keep his cool.

She looked at Zane seriously. “Lend me eight billion, and I will repay you with interest in three years.”

Fedrick eyes widened. “Are you kidding? Eight billion? Do you realize how much interest there will be in three years? We’ll lose eight billion if you cannot repay. You are Logan’s wife; who could do anything to you then?”

“I know how much the interest is. I can sign a contract with you. If I can’t repay, I’ll give you the properties and shares, and work for you diligently for the rest of my life.” Layla hesitated for a moment and continued, “Furthermore, my marriage with Logan probably won’t last three years. He wouldn’t protect me even if I’m still his wife after three years.”

Upon hearing this, Zane looked up and gazed at her for a while.

Fedrick’s ears perked up.

It seemed he had just caught a whiff of gossip.

However, Fedrick quickly collected his thoughts and said, “No, !”

Before he finished speaking, a low and calm voice beside him interrupted, “Alright, I’ll lend it to you.”

“What!” Fedrick jumped up from his chair. “Have you lost your mind too?”

“I’ll have the finance department transfer the money to you. We’ll draft the contract later.”

“Damn you, Zane!” Fedrick stomped his feet.

“Thank you, Mr. Thomson.” Layla stood up, “I will wait for your message. I look forward to our cooperation.”

Layla smiled and exited the CEO’s office.

After watching her depart, Fedrick gritted his teeth and said, “She left quite happily. It’s eight billion! Are you out of your mind? Why would you lend her money, she is Logan’s wife?”

Zane smirked and replied, “She is attractive.”

“Damn it! Why do I have to pay for your flirting?”

Zane stood up and slapped a bank card on Fedrick’s chest. “The betrothal gift for the woman I love is naturally my responsibility.”

“What? Betrothal gift? She is Logan’s wife, what are you talking about?”

Zane ignored Fedrick and walked out of the CEO’s office.

“Crazy. Everyone is out of their mind!”

As Layla stepped through the door of Robinson Residence, she immediately saw Logan sitting in the living room.

Layla frowned.

In her previous life, Logan’s visits to the home were rare.

Since when has he been so attached to the house?
