Married Ex-Fiancé’s Uncle (Abigail) novel Chapter 1

Chapter 1 Marrying a Stranger

On my wedding day, my fiancé cheated on me.

I stared at the email on my phone.

My fiancé, Felix, was in bed, having sex with my best friend…

……

They were completely naked, wrapped around each other like animals. The sound of their moans and heavy breathing filled the room, disgusting and raw.

At first, Abigail thought it had to be some kind of twisted prank.

But then—he spoke.

That voice. That exact tone. Low, deep, unmistakably his.

It was Felix.

He was lost in it, arms wrapped around Caroline’s waist, letting out those satisfied little sighs.

Totally different from the same cold, emotionless man she knew.

Abigail just stood there, frozen outside the reception hall, her phone shaking in her hand.

Her heart slammed against her chest, her breath caught in her throat. Then—

Felix’s voice, cold and smug, played through her phone.

"Caroline, it should be you in that fucking wedding dress. The thought of putting a ring on that woman's finger makes me wanna puke."

Caroline let out a laugh, soft and sugary. "So tell me... who do you really want? Me or Abigail?"

"You, obviously."

His voice dripped with contempt.

"Abigail’s like a damn nun. Won’t even let me kiss her. She’s boring. Dead fish. Christ, she makes me sick."

Caroline giggled harder, like it was the funniest thing she’d ever heard.

"Is that why you're screwing me on your wedding day? So… are you still going through with it?"

"Not a chance."

Abigail felt the blood drain from her face.

She was standing there in her wedding dress, seconds away from walking down the aisle.

Waiting for the doors to open. Waiting to marry a man who was in bed with someone else.

Then her phone buzzed.

She picked it up.

Felix’s voice came through, flat and heartless:

"Look, Abigail, Caroline needs me. Wedding's off. You'll have to tell everyone," he said flatly, his words hitting her like a slap in the face.

Abigail's arm dropped, and she let out a harsh laugh.

So there it was.

On what should've been their wedding day, he was with another woman, leaving her to deal with all those people whispering and pointing fingers at her.

After what felt like forever, Felix finally spoke up, his voice cold. "I'll make this right when it's over."

"Make it right?" she shot back. "What's your plan? Try to fix this mess of a marriage, or just throw cash at me to get lost? Save it."

Abigail hung up and called her dad.

She wanted to tell them the wedding was off.

But her dad spoke first, sounding guilty and worried. "Honey, Caroline's sick. Mom and I probably can't make it!"

Abigail's heart dropped.

Of course. She wasn't daddy's little girl anymore.

Just three days back, when Caroline was trying on her bridesmaid dress, her parents spotted a birthmark on her back.

Turns out Caroline was the real Winchester daughter, and Abigail? Just some mix-up at the hospital.

"Who am I kidding? I've got no right to ask for their time."

Looking at her dark phone screen, it hit her - first Felix stabbed her in the back, now her family was walking away too.

Everyone she counted on had picked Caroline, just like Felix did.

Abigail barely knew how she ended up inside the venue.

Looking out at all those happy faces in the crowd, she'd never felt more lonely.

Her chest felt like someone had ripped her heart out, leaving her struggling to breathe through the pain.

Nobody was coming to save her. She was on her own.

But she wasn't about to let those two get away with it.

Heart pounding, she balled her hands into fists.

Then she hiked up her dress, marched onto the stage, and grabbed the mic. "Sorry everyone, but the groom's too busy sleeping with my maid of honor to show up! Anyone here want to get married today? Because I'm game!"

The room erupted into chaos.
