Chapter 127 Under Arrest
The girl he had spoiled for more than twenty years broke Eddie's heart.
Not long ago, she called him a broke loser.
Now, she called his name so sweetly, pretending nothing had happened.
In his mind, she must think he would be as dumb as before and forgive her as long as she pretended to be pitiful.
Unfortunately, it wouldn't work this time.
"I'm just a broke loser and don't deserve a noble lady like you to call my humble name! Whether you pushed me on purpose or not, the police will look into it!" Eddie said.
He meant to listen to Adela and call the police.
Caroline was shocked and immediately growled at him. "Since you want to ruin my reputation, don't expect me to help you ever again!"
Troy snorted and refuted her, "Don't worry. We won't ask for your help even if we become homeless!"
Since there was a police station nearby, it didn't take the police a long time to get there.
With the surveillance footage as evidence, Caroline was soon taken away.
The Yannis family didn't care about her anymore and was even reluctant to look at her.
As soon as Caroline was taken away, everyone present felt the long-lost quietness.
After a momentary hesitation, Alice clenched her fists and walked to Eddie with her phone. "Hello... Can I have your number?"
This sudden request stunned Eddie, and he felt confused.
With a flushed face, Alice was too shy to look at him and forced herself to finish her sentence. "Although I didn't mean to, I still hit you. You are discharged from the hospital so soon, and I am worried about your body.
"If we exchange the number, you can call me if you don't feel well."
It sounded reasonable, and Eddie didn't think too much before taking out his phone and swapping numbers with her.
Then, after knowing her name, he marked her number with Alice and said, "Thank you, Ms. Hills, for calling an ambulance for me."
"It's nothing." Since she got his number, Alice left.
The Yannis family also lost interest in having pizzas. They just had a random meal and went back to the apartment they rented.
Only then did Eddie know about his parents' rupture with Grandma Patricia.
It made no difference to him where he lived as long as he could live with his family.
But he felt a little guilty when facing Abigail.
It was not like he couldn't accept this new sister. He just felt so guilty to face her.
