Just as she reached the door, Caroline suddenly stepped out to block her path.

Not wanting to engage, Abigail tried to sidestep her, but Caroline moved in her way again.

Do you need something?Abigail asked, her tone flat.

Caroline pressed on, You know you’re no longer part of the Winchester family, yet you still cling to my position. Don’t you have any selfrespect?

With a slight shake of her head, Abigail chuckled.

Although she didn’t say a word, to Caroline, it felt like an avalanche of scorn.

Caroline’s expression darkened further. “What’s so funny? You’d better leave voluntarily, or you’ll be the one who ends up embarrassed!

Abigail smirked, her eyes glinting with sarcasm. And who are you to say that?

The lady of the Winchester family?

Or perhaps the manager of Winchester Group?

Caroline, do you really think a bit of bloodline is enough to secure your place in the Winchester family?

The Winchester family was far more complex than Caroline imagined.

It was a dangerous arena. Those who naively tried to grab hold of othersresources often ended up being slaughtered.
