Chapter 27 Marcus Has a Son?

So, what about your son? How old is he?Abigail asked the question that had been on her mind, You said he was in poor health. What exactly is wrong with him?

Marcusparents didn’t need to live with them, but it was very likely that his child would need to come live with them in the future.

The more she knew now, the easier it would be to get along later.

Abigail had never raised a child before. She had only interacted with her relativeskids.

They were mischievous kids who wore her out more than working ten days in a row.

She wondered what Marcusson would be like.

Marcusfingers tightened slightly around his fork. His voice lowered as he said, He’s six years old.

She thought, Six?

Abigail remembered seeing MarcusID at City Hall.

He was twentyseven this year.

That meant he had his child at twentyone!

Marcus hesitated, a brief shadow of pain crossing his eyes. He has autism.

Hearing this, Abigail felt a wave of sympathy wash over her.

She had once visited a welfare center to give a psychology talk and had seen autistic children firsthand.

They were completely lost in their own world, and it was heartbreaking.

Now Abigail truly understood why Marcus had married her. It wasn’t just for a companion. It was for someone who could help take care of his son.

If his child were healthy, they could simply hire a nanny.

There would be no need to involve her in his marriage.

Once she realized this, Abigail felt a sense of relief.

She looked at Marcus and said, I minored in child psychology in college. Maybe I can help. You can bring him over, and we’ll work together to help him.

Marcus gazed at her deeply. Aren’t you scared?

After all, this was a child with autism. Even the best psychologists in the country hadn’t been able to help him.

Abigail smiled gently. Scared? Why would I be? Once I decided to marry you, that child became my responsibility, too.

She wouldn’t have agreed to marry him so quickly, knowing he had a son, if she hadn’t thought this through.

Alright, I’ll talk to my family,Marcus said calmly.

The two of them continued their meal.

Meanwhile, Danna had been waiting outside for over an hour before finally being seated in the restaurant.

But the only table available was in a terrible spot, with no view of the night skyline.

The service was also subpar, completely different from how Sean treated Marcus. The contrast was stark.

Danna seethed with frustration, still wondering who that pretty man really was.

Then, she spotted Caroline and Felix walking handinhand

A sly smile crossed Danna’s face as she quickly walked over.

Caroline, Mr. Felix Fitzgerald, what a coincidence! You’re here too?
