"You stole everything from me. Bet you're loving every minute of it. But here you are, still playing the victim. Don't you get tired of all this fake crying?"
Caroline's face hardened for a second before the waterworks started again, her voice shaking with fake hurt.
"Abigail, how could you say that? You've got it wrong," she sniffled. "I never wanted this... It's my fault. I'm just so pathetic, always sick, always causing problems... I'm sorry! I'll go. I'm just making everything worse."
She turned to leave, but right on cue, Natalia ran over to stop her, looking all heartbroken. "Caroline, don't be silly. This is your home."
Even without the DNA results back yet, Natalia knew in her heart Caroline was her daughter.
No way was she letting her walk away, not after everything the poor girl had been through.
Caroline kept her head down, hiding her face, and said quietly, "Please, Mrs. Winchester... I need to go. Abigail won't be happy if I stay."
She tried halfheartedly to pull away, tears running down her pale face, looking like some fragile, broken doll.
Natalia hugged her, gently patting her back as if soothing a wounded child. But when she looked at Abigail, her expression hardened, full of judging.
Caroline was still hanging onto Natalia when she looked at Felix with teary eyes.
"Felix, I'm so sorry," she sniffled. "I ruined everything between you two. Go to her. I know how much you guys love each other..."
Felix melted at how sweet she was being, even while crying.
He looked at Abigail, shaking his head. "She's not well, Abigail. It's not her fault. Why are you being so mean?"
He couldn't believe his sweet Abigail had turned so cold.
