Master of his heart (Max and Brielle) novel Chapter 1367

Brielle lay sprawled on her bed, watching her brother flirt endlessly. She felt like it might be better to just hide under the bed.

Quietly, she took a bite of her apple, not saying a word.

Emma, teased relentlessly by Dustin, pressed her lips together tightly, refusing the apple he offered, and just hung her head in silence.

“So, Miss Broadcaster, not taking the bait? Got that much pride?”

The neatly sliced apple dangled from his pale fingers, teasingly close to Emma’s mouth.

Unable to hold back, Emma took a big bite.

A flicker of amusement crossed Dustin’s eyes as he let go, turned away, his shoulders shaking with laughter.

Emma’s bite was indeed huge, and Dustin’s soft remark of “Mega Bite” made her face flush red with a mix of anger and embarrassment as she stood up.

But standing before her were two men of higher status, both her bosses, which made her retreat. She removed the apple from her mouth, the embarrassment of taking such a large bite overwhelming her.

“Mr. Haywood, I... I'll be leaving now.”

Without waiting for Brielle's reaction, she turned and left.

As the door closed behind her, she heard Brielle’s voice inside.

“Why are you teasing her like that?”

“It’s fun, she talked smack about me once, and I caught her.”

Outside, Emma glanced at the apple in her hand.

Dustin was considerate, leaving the ends of the apple untouched so one could hold it without touching the peeled flesh.

Sadly, it seemed he was this considerate with every woman.

And he admitted it was all just for fun.

In that moment, Emma had to admit, Dustin had a way with women, a few light words enough to make anyone’s heart flutter.

Jerk.

She couldn’t let this jerk know she was pregnant.

“Good, the Drennon family’s company has been bought out, and they’ve basically left the country.”

Brielle didn’t join the conversation about the Drennon family’s fate; they got what they deserved. During a live stream, Leona had been plotting something shady. Stellar Stage Entertainment only released a statement, not directly targeting Leona.

It was the online backlash that drove Leona to attempt an assassination.

Brielle thought Beaconsfield was safe, never expecting such an incident.

Thankfully, Isaac wasn’t hurt. The panic she felt seeing the dagger aimed at Isaac, instinctively pulling him into her embrace, was overwhelming.

“Is Isaac okay at home? Was he scared?”

She grasped King’s hand, worried. King chuckled lightly.

“Isaac wouldn’t be scared by something like this. He’s just worried about you, asks about you several times a day. I didn’t let him come; he’d just stand by and cry, getting in the way.”

Warmth spread through Brielle’s chest, and she couldn’t help but remark,

“If only Isaac was my child, that would be wonderful.”
