Man With Super Medical Skill (Matthew) novel Chapter 3463

"Everyone, leave!" Bram commanded.

At his command, the servants left, one by one, leaving only Matthew and two others behind.

"Mr. Larden, Miss Ashcroft." Bram's gaze fell especially on Matthew. "You're not here just for this, right?" It was evident that he feared Matthew, seeing that Matthew was the strongest one, and concluded that he would not win against them.

"Not bad," Matthew asked, nodding at Allyson beside him. "Why don't you tell him, Miss Ashcroft?"

"Oh." She hesitated briefly. With a nod, she stood up and expressed to Bram, "I want to be the new governor!"

She might have said her words loud and clear, but as her gaze remained locked on Bram, it was enough to leave her feeling on edge.

He was the least surprised at her declaration, thinking, It's inevitable. I never expected the previous governor's daughter to show up on her own as she has been missing for years. There was no trace of her even though I had sent my men to look for her.

Her personal interests were not in line with her sudden appearance and subsequent action to support the Veiled Assembly. The only reason why she would do so was to unite the group.

"Well, Miss Ashcroft," came his reply, as he continued, stating the requirements for becoming governor. "Being a governor requires power and prestige to control the entire island, as you should be clearly aware. Your reputation is secure as the former governor's daughter. However, many newcomers on the island do not recognize you. So, you'll need power to back you up on that."

Of the three major docks, two had been destroyed, with the remaining one supporting her as governor. Naturally, he omitted the issue of the docks but only brought up the island newcomers.

After lunch, she was asked by Matthew to remain at Island Watch while he left to attend to other matters.

The forces from the Veiled Assembly and Island Watch collaborated to seal off the whole island that afternoon. They rounded everyone present, be it a wrongfully accused person or a criminal who had escaped there, to one place and interrogated them there.

Those who supported Miss Ashcroft in her quest to be the governor would continue to live in peace, but those who refused or remained neutral would be mercilessly killed. At this moment, Matthew figured, I couldn't care less about the consequences of killing them. They are wicked individuals who show no respect, so they should not be granted any mercy. If they die, then so be it!
