Jimmy's mood was all over the place. His eyes were red and wild as he darted glances between Selena and Margot. He suddenly switched up his tone.
"So, tell me, who do you think your man would pick? Let me take a wild guess."
He shoved his terrifying face right up to Margot, who was so terrified she couldn't help but let out a scream.
"Stay away from me. Get out of here! Everett, come save me. Everett..."
As expected, Jimmy raised his hand again and slapped her across the face.
"Useless woman! All you do is scream!"
Margot was completely shattered. Her cheeks throbbed with pain and were already swelling up without needing a mirror to confirm it.
Jimmy turned his attention to Selena, leaning in close.
Selena swallowed hard a few times but forced herself to keep her cool. She could see something had pushed Jimmy over the edge; his mind was teetering on the brink, ready to snap at any moment. In times like these, staying calm was crucial, or else she might not last until help arrived.
Even though Jimmy's stare felt like a snake's, Selena did her best to stay composed.
"Seems like Mrs. Bennett is more my type."
Jimmy's eyes lit up with admiration as he said, "No wonder you're the woman I've got my eye on!"
"But..."
His gaze quickly softened with pity. "I doubt Mr. Everett would choose you. He goes for the sneaky ones. Mrs. Bennett, you're really in a tough spot."
From the corner of her eye, Selena noticed Everett taking advantage of Jimmy's distraction, whispering to someone nearby. She got the message.
Jimmy, catching her look, glared menacingly. "You consider yourself a woman? You're just a shameless homewrecker!"
Feeling utterly embarrassed, Margot didn't dare argue, only to start crying again.
But after just a couple of sobs, Jimmy's icy glare was on her again. "Cry one more time, and I'll cut out your tongue!"
Margot seemed paralyzed with fear, her eyes rolling back as she fainted on the spot.
Meanwhile, Everett had already reached out to his bodyguard, and the police were on their way.
Derick parked the car by the roadside, pulled out his laptop, and began typing furiously to track their location.
After a beep, Derick's tense expression eased a bit, and he turned to Everett, "I've pinpointed the ladies' location. They've been taken to a nearby harbor warehouse."
