Stay away.
Or come closer.
The answer was simple, yet somehow incredibly hard to pin down.
Everett's hand instinctively moved to his chest. How could he love Selena when he didn’t even know what love really meant? Was letting go the only way forward?
Leaning back in his chair, Everett pondered deeply, his voice a low murmur, "What if I’m just a man without a heart?"
Dr. Stone raised an eyebrow in surprise. "How can someone be without a heart?"
Everett chuckled, tapping his chest. "I’ve got an artificial heart here. It’s mechanical."
"Since the surgery, I’ve felt disconnected from everything, emotionally numb. Only when I’m with Selena do I feel the slightest flicker of emotion. I’m not sure what to make of it."
Dr. Stone, familiar with the cutting-edge artificial heart technology Callum’s medical team was developing, was surprised to learn Everett had not only adopted it but also succeeded with it.
She was in awe of the marvels of modern medicine and found herself intrigued by the idea of awakening a mechanical heart to love. After all, AI was constantly learning human skills. Maybe one day, it could learn emotions too.
With a gentle smile, Dr. Stone suggested, "Mr. Everett, if you’re open to it, hypnosis could be an option."
"Hypnosis?" Everett echoed, curious.
"Hypnosis is my specialty. I can’t spark emotions in your artificial heart, but I can hypnotize your brain to deeply love Ms. Selena."
