Mission: From Divorcee to Millionaire novel Chapter 866

Devin was completely taken by surprise when he found himself halfway out the window, his phone slipping from his grasp and plummeting below. Joy, seeing the chaos unfold, erupted into a crazed laughter, shoving Devin with even more determination. If she could just get rid of him, she’d finally be at ease.

Devin struggled to hold his ground. "Joy, are you really trying to kill me just to shut me up?"

By now, Joy had nothing left to hide. "Devin, don’t blame me for this. Blame yourself! You didn’t hide well enough, and Everett’s people tracked you down. You thought you could catch me off guard, but I can’t let you live!"

Feeling the dizzying height from the window, Devin's face turned a shade paler. "You heartless woman, with all the blood on your hands, do you really think you’ll get away with it?"

"Why wouldn’t I?" Joy, tipsy and riding high on confidence, declared, "My brother is Abraham, the future kingpin of Newport. This is my turf—what do I have to fear?"

"You wanted someone to join you on your way to hell, didn’t you? Well, Selena was supposed to be your partner in crime. Satisfied now?" Joy's eyes glinted with a wild madness. "Goodbye, Devin."

Just as Joy was about to use every ounce of her strength to finish Devin off, she suddenly felt a powerful grip yanking her backward.

At the same time, another figure darted in, grabbing Devin by the waist and pulling him back to safety. The room exploded with light as Selena and Holt strode in through the door, advancing steadily toward Joy.

Selena lifted her gaze, her dark eyes locking onto Joy with a calm intensity. Joy stared at the woman before her, unable to believe her eyes. "You... you were supposed to be..."

Furious, Joy lunged at her, intent on taking them both down. But the bodyguard holding her had her firmly restrained, leaving her powerless.

Selena looked at her with a chilling detachment. "Even now, you don’t see where you went wrong, do you? Joy, I never imagined it would come to this between us..."

Her gaze was icy, but her voice carried a hint of raw emotion. They had once been friends, promising to grow old together. Sometimes, friendship wasn’t so different from love—both demanded your heart and soul.

But Joy wasn’t listening. Selena had shattered her carefully crafted plans, and all she felt was rage. "Selena, save the fake concern. If you really cared, you wouldn’t have chased after the man I loved. It’s always you, always competing with me! You’re the one who betrayed me!"
