Selena cut her off, "Listen, you're the priority right now. Keeping you safe is the only way we'll take Abraham down. Enough chatter, get changed."
Moments later, the car pulled over by the curb. Selena, heavily disguised, slipped out and quickly jumped into another car, heading in the opposite direction.
Half an hour later, the car Selena was in got stopped.
The men swiftly overpowered her bodyguards, quickly tying her up and driving her out to the outskirts.
In the car, Selena sat with a blindfold over her eyes. She had no clue where they were taking her but tried to keep her cool.
Saying she wasn't scared would be a lie.
But pulling off something like this in New York, challenging someone as powerful as Abraham, naturally came with its risks.
As night fell, the car finally stopped.
Selena was roughly pulled from the vehicle, shoved into a place, and only then was her blindfold yanked off.
The sudden brightness made her squint, and it took a moment for her eyes to adjust.
In front of her stood a mansion so lavish it looked like a palace. Even Selena, who had seen the grandeur of the Bennett family estate, was momentarily in awe.
The tiles here seemed like they were paved with gold.
Abraham appeared, having just patched up his wounds. Seeing Selena instead of Mallie, he sneered and slapped Levi hard across the face.
"Couldn't even handle a simple task. What good are you?"
Levi, a big guy, was knocked to the ground, showing just how much force Abraham put into it.
Selena took a step back, instinctively.
Her scalp stung, but Selena refused to beg or show any weakness.
"Alright, Selena, do you really think I won't dare lay a finger on you?"
Abraham's cold hand patted Selena's face. "Since you're so stubborn, you'll be the one to taste the consequences of crossing me!"
He motioned to the guard beside him. "Cut out her tongue."
Selena lowered her gaze, a barely noticeable glint of defiance flickering in her eyes.
