Mission: From Divorcee to Millionaire novel Chapter 908

Two bodyguards immediately stepped in. One twisted Selena's arms behind her back, keeping her from moving, while the other grabbed her jaw, forcing her mouth open. He picked up a sharp knife and aimed it at her lips.

Abraham relaxed on the couch as Levi got up to pour him a glass of red wine. Abraham swirled it gently, his eyes lifting to meet Selena's.

To his surprise, she showed no signs of panic. Even with the knife so close, she didn’t look like she was about to beg for mercy.

Abraham took a sip of his wine and waved his hand casually.

Levi intervened, "Stop."

The bodyguard put down the knife, and the other released Selena, both stepping back quickly with military precision.

Abraham gestured toward a chair. "Have a seat."

Selena let out a quiet sigh of relief, tidying her hair and clothes before calmly sitting across from Abraham.

Levi poured her a glass of wine, too.

Abraham studied her face; although a bit pale, she didn’t seem scared.

Curious, he asked, "Selena, are you just a great actress, or are you really not afraid?"

In his experience, nobody stayed this cool in such a situation. He’d seen plenty who acted tough, only to crumble when things got real.

Even the toughest guys did, so how could Selena, a seemingly delicate woman, not?

At this moment, he was genuinely intrigued.

Selena didn't answer directly. Instead, she smiled slightly, "I just think Mr. Abraham is a smart man."

Abraham wasn’t like Joy. He was a savvy player, someone who might get mad but wouldn’t lose his head.

Of course, if the person here today were Mallie, a nobody with no social standing or connections, her disappearance wouldn’t matter. No one would care or notice.

His eyes narrowed as he glared at her, "Selena, did you take me down just for Everett? He betrayed and hurt you, yet you still love him?"

His words cut like a knife, "How desperate can you be?"

He couldn’t wrap his head around why Joy, and now Selena, were so fixated on Everett. What was so special about him?

Everything Everett had, he had too.

He even had a brighter future than Everett.

Being with him would be far better than being with Everett.

The glass shattered, red wine spreading across the floor, a vivid sight.
