Mr. Norman, She's Out of Your League Now novel Chapter 30

Brian frowned. "If it's part of the treatment, why didn't you use it from the start?"

He wondered if she did it on purpose.

At the thought of how she usually argued with him, he concluded that this seemed like something she'd do just to mess with him.

Charlotte naturally wouldn't admit it.

"If I used it too early, the treatment wouldn't have been as effective. Are you doubting me now?" she replied with confidence.

As she spoke, she purposely pressed and rubbed around one of the acupoints where she had inserted a needle earlier.

The spot was already a little painful, but now with the sudden pressure, the agony became more intense. Brian couldn't hold back a low grunt and immediately forgot his earlier doubts. His tone turned icy as he asked, "What are you doing?"

Knowing that he couldn't do anything to her, Charlotte replied calmly, "A gentle message helps the medicine absorb more quickly. I'm doing this for your own good."

He didn't believe her.

"Gentle? With that strength, it felt like you were trying to snap my bones. You did it on purpose!"

She denied it calmly. "Of course not. I'm a doctor. Why would I intentionally hurt my patient? If you can't handle the pain, just say so."

Her comments made sense, but her tone was clearly full of amusement.

Brain was furious.

If he weren't blind right now, he wouldn't let her mess with him like this.

She clearly knew that too.

He clenched his teeth and silently vowed that if she kept testing his limits like this, he would make sure she got a taste of her own medicine soon!

Charlotte had no idea what was going through his head. Since she was in a good mood now, her movements were gentler.

Brian felt the pain in his body begin to ease slowly.
